Odds are the fan is in the freezer side...For some reason the cold air isn't getting to the freezer. In the back of the freeze part shoud be a channel that the cold air blows thru to cool the refer. Either the fan is not working...or working slow. or something is blocking the path of cold air. Dig into it. Shoud be an easy fix.

It takes about 2 hours to get back to temperature. The control knob should always be set midway to start, then you adjust +/- depending on the internal temperature..

That is what we call short cycling. Most times the problem is caused by a defective start relay, overload and run capacitor. These parts can be located on the wires coming from the little box on the side of the compressor. Wish I could provide a photo but the parts dealers will most likely have a schematic and part numbers. The whole problem can also be brought on by a defective fan motor because the compressor works really hard to help cool but the compressor shuts down when it can not compress the Freon at high temperature. look for ice build up behind freezer - defrost cycle transducer or defrost circuit fan that blows cold air from freezer to fridge - see if it is working or jammed on something put into freezer .

Evaporator fan may not be working or may be a defrost problem.

You need to check on the FREON gas that is necessary for the production of cold energy. If the gas has leaked out, there could be a bad line connection or a pin hole in the line. A technician has the gauges necessary to test lines and gas issues.

You need a new fridge side Thermistor. If that doesn't solve the problem, then replace the Damper Actuator.
