If it is the problem could be to much or not the right type washing detergent.

When it keeps filling it could be trying to drain and add water at the same time to remove some detergent.

We are FIXYA dot com, we aren't Whirlpool. As long as you can ascertain that there is power at the unit, the most likely part to fail is the main control board due to condensation, especially if you were away in winter.

My LG washers tub became loose and when I took it apart the spider arm on the tub was corroded and broken this holds the tub straight and it is mounted on spring for vibration. The tub was damaged but repairable and I installed a new tub seal

If it started suddenly it could be something worked loose, broke or got jammed between the drum and tub. If it has developed over time it is probably the main bearing.

Continuity means there is a connection. A short is an unregulated connection. It's likely the motor has shorted out most of its field coils, and that's blowing out your CCU.

Hi. You just need to remove two or three screws on the back of the top cover that hold it in place, then slide it yourself the back of the machine and lift. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hi. You have to remove the top cover, after removing it you have to reach on the back of the lock switch, there's like a plastic ring that you have to pull up.
