I have a viper 5706v installed it keep on showing error messages when i try to start it
If your Viper 5706V car alarm and remote start system is displaying error messages and not functioning properly, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
- Check the Display: Look closely at the error messages displayed on the remote control or alarm system. These messages can provide valuable information about what might be causing the problem.
- Check the Wiring: Make sure all the wiring connections are secure and properly connected. Loose or damaged wires can cause communication errors and prevent the system from functioning correctly.
- Check the Battery: Ensure that the battery in both the remote control and the vehicle is fully charged. Weak batteries can lead to communication problems and errors.
- Reset the System: Try resetting the Viper system by disconnecting the vehicle's battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. This can sometimes clear any temporary glitches in the system.
- Check Antenna Placement: The antenna for the remote start system should be placed in a location that allows for clear communication between the remote control and the vehicle. Check if the antenna is properly positioned and not obstructed.
- Review the Manual: Refer to the user manual that came with your Viper 5706V system. It may contain troubleshooting steps and error code explanations specific to your model.
- Seek Professional Help: If you're unable to resolve the issue on your own, consider seeking assistance from a professional car alarm installer or a Viper authorized dealer. They have the expertise and tools to diagnose and fix complex issues.
- Update the Firmware: If the system's firmware can be updated, consider updating it to the latest version. New firmware releases often include bug fixes and improvements that could address the error messages you're encountering.
- Remote Control Programming: Sometimes, error messages can be due to issues with remote control programming. Follow the instructions in the manual to reprogram the remote control to the system.
- Check Sensor Connections: If your Viper system includes additional sensors or accessories (such as door sensors or motion detectors), ensure that they are properly connected and functioning.
Remember that troubleshooting complex car alarm and remote start systems might require specialized knowledge and tools. If you're not comfortable with the troubleshooting steps or if the issue persists, it's recommended to consult with a professional who is experienced in car alarm and remote start installations.
Valet mode
The valet button location is decided by the installer and is usually hidden. Find the main control unit and follow the 2 wires to the valet switch.
Viper Alarm app says Not Armed but locked
If the Viper Alarm app is showing that the alarm is "Not Armed" but the vehicle is locked, it is possible that the alarm system is not communicating properly with the app.
One solution is to try resetting the alarm system by disconnecting the car battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. This can sometimes help to reset the communication between the alarm system and the app.
If this does not work, it may be necessary to contact Viper customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide troubleshooting tips or suggest a software update for the app or alarm system.
My car stop responding
Likely causes is the Viper's fuse has blown, the installation is faulty or the unit has failed. Without testing the system, it is not possible to determine the exact cause of the problem.
