5 hp briggs & stratton on a chipper/shreader
if the starter rope fails to retract, then you need to either fix a broken spring, or put a new one in. You'll have to take the engine cover off, and you'll be able to see how to take apart the retractor assembly. Often times, just the end of the spring will break off, and if you have a grinder, you can grind the correct shape in it again, and reinstall it as is.
The tire spins on the axle, it is deflated and
If this is, as I suspect, a tubeless tire that has deflated and the bead has broken away from the rim, you will have a job getting it to inflate! When I have this trouble, I have had success using stainless clamps around the tire to squeeze it, I have also used a belt and a rope to make the tire fatter at the bead area. Wrap the weapon of your choice around the tread area and tighten it as mych as you can. If you have a air compressor, you may have success with this. If you are using a tire pump - as we say here in my state "foregetaboutit!" Take the tire to a tire shop and give them some bucks to blow it up for you.
You may want to get a product called "slime" at the auto parts store. Slime will seal leaks in tubeless tires (not for used on the highway). Remove the valve in the stem. With the special applicator, put the proper amount of slime into your tire and reinflate it. Roll it around to distribute the slime on the inside.
Most importantly, KEEY AN EYE on the pressure. As you are learning, it is a pain in the neck to have this problem.

Engine will not start on a briggs and stratton log
Ok, if the gas has been sitting in the fuel system for two years, it is now no good and has "varnished" the carb etc. The fuel system must be drained and run dry at the end of every season or you will have this occur. The solution is to disasemble the carb and clean it with carb cleaner and reassemble. You will need a few new parts and seals to do this and a lot of patience. Easy way is to take it to the service guy and live and learn.
To prevent this, use a fuel stabilizer in the fuel before storage.
Unable to keep motor running. Will run as long as
If this is a 2 stroke, remove the fuel filter and check,or replace, and check all the small fuel lines,if this is not a 2 stroke, check the pick up tube in the fuel tank,to see if it is blocked,if it is not, then remove the fuel tank, witch you will have to do to check the pick up tube, and clean the carb.Make sure all the holes in the carb.are clear.
Troy-Bilt shredder model 204 tire problem.
Put a ratchet strap around the tire and tighten it up until you seat the beads enough to get some air in it and then you can fill it back up from there. hope this helps you
I have a troy bilt mulcher model 47057 serial
I would check with an MTD dealer. I look online and found a site for the chipper blades and they wanted $40.00 USD for each. It may be worth your time to take the other ones out and get them sharpened.
Good Day.
Can't start the engine
It may have gotten some oil in the cylinder if it was tilted too far.take the plug out and clean it with carburetor cleaner. Also spray a little carb cleaner in spark plug hole and turn engine over without spark plug in it to clean any excess oil out of cylinder.Dry the plug off and try it out. Also make sure the air filter did not get saturated with oil try starting it with the air filter off if it is saturated with oil.
How do I clean the fuel line on troy bilt 5hp chipper vac?
unscrew the nut on the bottom of the carburetor and remove the float bowl it must be emptied and cleaned , debree and water gets into the bowl and blocks of fuel flow reinstall the bowl and start, some carbs don't have a float bowl requiring you to remove the gas tank and carb which is a more involved cleaning.
10 hp Troy Built chipper pull start frozen
If a branch was already being chipped when it ran out of gas...you must clear the hopper of any chunks of wood in it. Pull the plug wire and use a metal pry bar to dislodge any pieces of wood. when the flywheel runs free, put the plug wire back on and the choke on. Try it now!!!
