- that CPU T2050 !!! and PC are not 64bit at all. and iGPU VRAM steals memory from the main DDR memory bank
778MB stolen in fact as your manual tells you clear as day.
the 945G does only this, period.https://pcdied.com/w10/mem2.jpg

2006 CPU AND South bridge does that , all do. every one. then.
15 years ago. it has no 64bit CPU nor is the MMU 48 or 52 nor it is 64 addressing, only 32bit. then.
only does 4GB minus VRAM theft;. all do that, ever one. the manual on your PC even warns of that read./
all PC that old and that chips set, the manual on it tells the same facts on VRAM theft,

in system ICON in Control panel see it is 32bit, it fooled you thinking the installer put 64bit on any 32bit only CPU.
learn to use the System information page. see you were fooled
in w10 , they moved system to settings pages, now. out of control panel for funs and kicks a guess.,
I bet device manager bleeds with errors I bet.

Play dvd nothing - play s/d card (video) sound but no picture.
You need to update the dvd softwear. Check the default settings for playback of media,if it is set to windows media it won't work if you hav'nt installed the correct updates. Choose the Toshiba dvd player as the default player and it should work. If you prefer windows media then you can get the updated codecs from ' free-codecs.com ' Easier still, try uninstalling your windows media player and installing windows media 11, this will usually resolve the problem.

My Toshiba laptop keeps turning off randomly?
I had this problem for a LOONNGG time. I couldnt figure out what the heck was going on or why it was overheating. I almost resorted to buying a new computer, but thankfully I didnt. About 1am this morning it did it to me again. So i decided to clean the bottom and make sure it was clean. I cleaned it, and just out of curiousity, took apart the exhaust fan housing, and O. M. G. was there a TON of dust and junk in there. It took me about 45 minutes to clean it out thuroughly because I am not very computer savy when it comes to taking them apart and putting them back together correctly. But I would be my paycheck that if you took of your exaust fan housing, and then the individual covers for the fan and inspected the fans, and the exhaust ports themselves, you will find your problem. Since i cleaned it, it hasnt turned off once and the fans hardly run at all! I hope this helps guys!

Toshiba Satellite A205-S5804
Download the 8187b drivers from Realtek's site. You then need to go in and edit the .inf file to read like this:
;;****************************************************************************
;; IDs for 98SE/ME/2K/XP
;;****************************************************************************
[Realtek]
%RTL8187B.DeviceDesc% = RTL8187B.ndi, USB\VID_0BDA&PID_8197&REV_0200
%RTL8187B.DeviceDesc% = RTL8187B.ndi, USB\VID_0BDA&PID_8189&REV_0200
After the edit, install as usual from the device manager.

The error could be connected to the advanced system care. Have you uninstalled any protective software lately?
It would seem that as the computer is starting it is trying to load a program that is either corrupt or missing, generally a program like reg cleaner or other utility program.
If its a case you have removed a program, try installing it and see if that works.
Get another copy of the advanced sys care program and reinstall that.
If this doesn't work, get back to me.

Default bios password toshiba satellite a135-s2276
I have a Satellite A135-S2356 that had the same problem. I tried the solution from PCTServices above and it worked great.
"Power unit off. Disconnect AC power. Remove
battery. Remove the
memory cover screw, memory cover and the memory modules. Peel back mylar from JOPEN1 solder pad. Short JOPEN1 solder pads for 30 seconds. Replace mylar. Replace memory modules. Replace battery. Power up unit. If all is well, replace memory cover and screw."
Just short the two little solder pads and it worked great! I thought I would have to send it back to the manufacture but I am back in buisness. Thanks for the help.

Toshiba satellite 2140cds ask password when starting up
You might be able to log in as the Administrator. On the logon screen press Ctrl+Alt+Del and hold. It will give you a window to input username and password. Type in "Administrator" and leave the password blank. If that doesn't work, you can try a couple other generic passwords. If that doesn't work either, you can try logging on as "Guest" in the same fashion.
If neither of those options work, you will most likely need to reinstall windows, but there is a way to save all your files before you do that.
