Error code 01:
what to do:
open the tray, power down the unit, remove the top cover, remove the transport
(4 screws and a few conectors... I think there's a long 'transport load spring' also...)
then turn the transport over.
Looking at the bottom of the transport, there's a small, -no, make that tiny- black rubber drive belt
which goed from a very small pulley to a rather larger pulley directly next to it...
That's the one. Buy more than one replacement (they're only a buck or two) and put a new one on.
-then take the spare, and place it in a baggie and tape the baggie up inside the lid of the DA-30MkII...
Put some sort of friendly note in there for the next time the new owner of the machine needs to replace the belt.

This is a nice DAT recorder for its time. This unit uses a drive gear system for the FF, RR and the take up reels. Try the ff and rr, if they work, I am quessing there is a bad take up idler clutch assembly.l If the ff and rr does not work, the drive belt(s) are most likely bad. Good Luck

First, try formatting the Partition 03. Press MENU and select the DISK menu. Select the REFORM action and press the arrow key that points to the Right. Select the partition to be re-formatted (shown by the cursor) and press ENTER. Press ENTER to reformat the partition.

Officially there are no specific drivers for US-122 for windows 7. In case you have an error I suggest you to download the winXP v.3.40 from this link, unzip the files from the downloaded one, right click on the file US122_Win_3.40f.exe, choose properties, go at the compatibility tab and check compatibility with Windows XP sp3 and click apply - ok. After this install the drivers with double click on this file and check the results.
