MY SONY LBT-LX90AV CASSETT PLAYS DISCORD AND BELT FALLS OFF
Hi. Make sure the flywheel turns freely and that the capstan pin and pressure roller are clean. If this is OK then it is more than likely that the belt is stretched, dried out or generally worn. These parts only have a certain usable life and are quite cheap to replace.
MDS E12 displays 'Over' and ejects all discs with 'Read Error'
"Over" is always lit in the display. It just marks the end of the VU meter scale.
You have a drive problem. Nothing to do with your track 15 operation.
I would suggest reseating the drive ribbon cables, oxidation of these is a common theme with my MDS-JE530 which shows the same symptoms periodically.
MDS-E10 Problems loading and ejecting discs
Hi, its probably way too late to give this solution but there is a ribbon cable that runs from the main board onto the display board that causes this problem. Its very accessable from the top and all you have to do is pull it out clean the contacts and re-seat it. This will resolve all sorts of communications issues with the display and buttons.
MDS-E10 will not eject disc
The lower end mechanism were full of problems after about a year of use. The unit needs to go to an appropriate Technician- NOT Sony as they will just replace the mechanism if they even work on it and it will be the same cost of a new unit. The mechanism you have needs lubrication and a limiting resistor placed in line with motor to not break plastic parts.
I have a minidisc model mds e10
Hi,
it seems your MD unit is expecting a digital signal on the digital input causing this message to appear.
You need to connect a signal source to the digital input
or
connect an analog signal to an analog input and select the analog input as signal source.
In both cases the DIN UNLOCK message will then disappear.
Cheers
Sony MDS-E10 has been dropped. need schematics to solve problem.
Your service shop would need to purchase the service manual (if available). The problem here is that without seeing the unit, I can;t tell you whether the optics are bad or the tracking head is bad or the loading mechanism is defective. None of those options are cheap. Let me look into this a bit and see what I can find. I will try to get you part numbers at least with costs.

MDS-E10 failed to record
If you recorded a disc and then the deck saved it; then you cannot play it is probably a bad mechanism. When I buy old decks I check them by inserting and recording a disc then ejecting it. If it will then not play when reloaded the deck is bad. Often the decks say they are saving but are damaged and cannot so this is the only way to know for certain.
RTs00c00e00 ERROR MESSAGE, WILL NOT PLAY TURN OFF
I just turned on my Sony MDS-JE520 and got the same error message RTs00c00e00. Didn't wanted to play MD, but did throw out the MD. After turning it on and off still got the same message. When I took the remote and pressed the key display, it came back to the normal "mode". Everything works again, so hopefully it stays with only this one-time incident.
Hope it will help you guys also.
Regards, Danny
