Why does my 40 volt Ryobi blower cut on and off when I try to use it?

There will be a broken or damaged wire somewhere or the on / off switch could be faulty. Both will cause it to stop and start.

Does the drive shaft of a Ryobi ss26 require lubrication as part of its routine maintenance? It is running fine after 3 years.I find no reference to this in owners manual.

These small trimmers have a flexible drive shaft like a speedo cable, the tube lining is plastic, when they are assembled the flex shaft is greased, if you shake the machine and can hear the shaft rattling in the tube you can re grease it, otherwise leave it alone.

I bought the Ryobi 15 in cordless weedeater today. I charged the battery. Now I can't figure out how to get the battery back off the weedeater to store it. Can you help? Instructions not helpful.

Do you mean the Ryobi 40V X-head cordless string trimmer? This model has a 12-15" cutting width. For the 40V battery, you remove it by pressing and holding the latch button at the bottom of the battery (on the side closest to you). Then pull the battery out of the power head, exactly reversing how you slid it into place. Do not release the latch button until the battery slide free of the tool. The latch is usually stiff and takes a lot of force to hold down. See Fig 4 for the position of the latch in the manual: https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfimages/fa/fab7f50b-d65b-40de-9e1c-5fecce2436f5.pdf . The same directions apply to removing the battery from the Ryobi 40V string trimmer with the fixed head. For the 18V batteries, there are two latches, one on each side of the battery. Press and hold again. These are so stiff that my mother and I often need someone else take off the battery from any of the Ryobi tools. (We're both about 5' tall and 100 pounds. The tools aren't designed for our proportions.) I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Ryobi S430 will not stay running after prime is used up?? Fuel pump or carb overhaul?? Fuel line is not blocked.

Most likely carb. Needles sometimes get stuck when in storage where hi temp causes pressure on it.

The blade that was factory installed will not come off my Ryobi p2900 grass shear/shrubber. It is new out of the box yesterday.

The grass shear/shrubbery comes with two blades: the 3 in. grass shear blade for cutting grass and light weeds, and the 6 in. shrubbery blade for trimming hedges. Make sure to use the correct blade for your application.? Remove the battery pack, if installed.? Unscrew the lock knob and remove any attached blade from the tool.? Install the desired blade onto the bar stud and secure it in place using the lock knob If that does not work return for new replacement . If you bought it HD I would have returned.

My Ryobi grass trimmer’s battery won’t charge, not sure if it’s the battery or charging unit...can u help? Vivian

Unfortunately unless you have a multi meter, and know how to use it you are going to struggle to see which item has failed, what I would do is check the voltage from both battery and charger to see which is not correct. So back to basics, is the battery properly inserted into the charger? if there is a stand by light on the charger, is this on? is the fuse in the plug ok? ( swap with a fuse you know is good ) is the plug socket you are trying it on live?

I broke the electric cable from the magneto to the sparkplug on my Ryobi 25cc engine. do I need to buy a whole new magneto?

It really depends where you have broken it, you can get repair cables for the ht lead, if it is broken at the ignition unit it will be a bit more difficult, you could try glueing it as it only needs to be in the right place for the spark to transfer along the ht lead.

No spark on sparkplug? on rg 950 ryobi

Ryobi gas powered machines will not start if they are low on oil, or if the oil is bad. I would change the oil and make sure it is filled to the proper level. Yes this will stop the plug from sparking, it has a safety switch in the crankcase.

My Ryobi 4 head trimmer motor keeps flipping upside down while it’s running. I tried tightening all the screws but it is still happening. How do I stop it from flipping?

There must be a pinch bolt to clamp the tube in the clutch drum housing, if the bolt is lose the motor can and will rotate due to the action of the inner drive shaft.

The bolt on my ryobi whipper snipper attaching the head to the shaft has been lost or loosened during use. can u easily grab a bolt of same diameter and replace this or is there more to it then that?

You can use a different bolt other than a replacement bolt from the mfg. as long as it's the right diameter, thread pitch, and length. eg: 10x1.25x40 = 10mm dia. x 1.25 thread pitch x 40mm long. The problem usually is that the head on the bolt for that diameter is too small and you'll have to use a washer. That's ok but if the head of the bolt is too tall, the bolt will hit the ground first, keeping the head unit from releasing some trimmer line.
