60000 btu reddy will run with cover off will shut off with the cover on why?

The thermisistor is probably going bad and if the temp rises above above what it's sensing (in it's faulty condition), it will cause the unit to shut off. Also, make sure that when you are putting on the cover, it's not pushing on any internal parts and wiring.

Reddy heater 75 125000 propane heater. Fan comes on, have spark, smell propane and still won't fire

There are couple possible reasons your unit refuses to fire; some units tjis big have to be level, this is a saftey feature bulit in if it is not level, it will not fire, ( it believes it has been tipped over), the smell of propane could also mean it has a leak on your line connection ( bad fitting, not sealed properly), finally check the temperature sensor may be bad and need replacing......

Reddy pro155 runs for 3 to 5 seconds

Reply with the correct model number. "Pro 155" designates a series. We need to know whether you have a heater with a spark plug or a heater with an ignitor (glowbar).

Wall mount propane heater ignites, but won't stay lit

I have a Reddyheat IWH16NLTD with this problem. When the heater fan turns on it blows the pilot light slightly up and away from the thermocouple causing the safety valve to close after the ceramic cools down. The manual says that low gas line pressure can cause the flame to rise too far from the thermocouple causing this problem, so either it is a problem with gas pressure, or it is an assembly plant problem.

I HAVE A 30,000BTU PROPANE HEATER (REDDY). i USE

Always start by checking the pump pressure, first. Compare the air pump pressure to specs written on the heater. So much time can be gained in troubleshooting by using pump pressure as a starting point. Pressure loss can lead you to rotor failure, air leaks, broken parts, leaky hoses, or, through good intentions, if someone has attempted to adjust the pressure and actually done more harm than good. As little as 1/2 psi reduction in pressure can give the symptoms described. Once the pressure is correct and the problem persists, move on to diagnosing the nozzle, fuel, and fuel delivery.
Fuel delivery is directly related to the air pump pressure. Just like the doctor checks your blood pressure (blood flow) you need to check the heater's air pressure (fuel flow). Air travels from the pump to the nozzle. At the nozzle adapter, fuel is sucked from the tank. Too little pressure means reduced fuel flow.

My 3500 btu reddyheater propane runs great but stinks up my shop never noticed before gives me a headacKe

With any unvented gas heater, you still need fresh air coming in to breath. Long exposure in a closed room with these type heaters will cause headaches, nausea, light headedness, etc. If you think something may be wrong with the heater, check the inside of the heater where the flames are. Is it sooted? If it is, it is not burning correctly and may need the pressure adjusted or cleaned. Is the cylinder you are using freezing up on the outside of the bottle? You may just need to switch to a full cylinder. Hope this helps.
