Have seen this before and its probably used on an extension lead. Although the led on the extension may be lit, there is no power to the actual socket. try plugging straight into a known working wall socket. Have you tried another mains lead?

The only thing in common with both of the printers is the USB cable you are using. Try another one.

413 k toner empty

I had a paper jam and removed the jammed papers. The paper jam cleared and then the Fatal Error 980 appeared. OKI C5500 printer

The toners that you have bought are most probably not for your country or have the chips missing so the machine cannot identify them correctly. If they have no chips you can remove the old ones and fit them to the new ones. I would just send them back to your supplier and get the correct ones.

231 Is a RFID error. I have seen this a few times and can be caused by rf interference. If you have any electrical device sitting very close (ie router/pc/hub/media centre/microwave etc. This will cause a 231 error.

An error occurred like paper curling to the fuser unit.

You cant find the reset because there is not one. OKI do not use resets to cure errors. Yes a 980 is paper wrapped around the hot or pressure rollers in the fuser. Normally you just take out the fuser and remove the paper and it will start working. However this MUST be done with the power OFF. So it should be a case of just turning it off and removing the jam and refitting the fuser and turning it back on. If the error is still there then alas a new fuser is require to get it going again. You may be able to buy a fuse from suppliers on the net, fit it and that will do the reset without the need of buying a fuser.

There is no reference to your problem in the C5100 Service manual. I have 17 years experience on OKI printers and never heard of this error. it must be specific to a program you are using. try printing the windows test page and if that is ok consult the people who made the program as that's where the trouble must lay.

Look for a strip of plastic running the full width of the printer. Its called an encoder strip. The sensor in the carriage looks at the encoder and counts the markings on it so it knows where to be. The strip can be dirty or marked and the carriage will have trouble reading it. Gently use a foam cleanser and wipe the strip clean. be careful as it is easily damaged. If you still have problem then a new "Space motor" is required.

With OKI its a software issue. If you remove a drum and refit it it can screwup the software and a grey backgound can be the result. Usually powering off an on cures and or remove all consumables and let the machine error and then turn off then replace the consumables and power up again and alls well. Also you can have a bad earth contact on a drum/machine. Make sure all contacts are clean and touching each other.

Doubtful. Usually manufacturers imprint the chip on the cartridge to the specific model its made for. Remember not all toners are the same. Toner power comes in different sizes and there is no "Generic" toner.

This is a very unusual error. It refers to the internal flash memory. Hold down both menu keys (Up and down) and power up the printer. Go into the maintenance menu,Use the menu keys to the heading called "Flash Format Execute". Press setting key and it will intitialize the flash memory. Turn off and on and hopefully all will be well. If not then buy a new printer and cost outweighs repair.

My OKI C9600 printer has problem related to led head with error code 133. This error msg indicates Cyan led head is failed. There are some reasons that leading to this failure. One of them might be caused by drum. If drum is dirty or is overflown by toner. So you may test C Led head to know it is OK or not. How to test ? Try changing with another Led Head such as Y,K, M. This is the way I did, and my printer is OK now.

You cannot clear the fax memory as its integral with the main memory. The only way to do it would be to wipe the whole printer of its memory and start again. Its not worth it. Just let it print them!

You will find the waste toner auger (Coiled wire in the plastic tube) is either snapped or blocked with hard toner. Its simple to remove as it just unscrews. If I remember correctly it sits under the transfer belt and runs down the back and right side of the base. Anyway clean and inspect it as that is what removes the waste toner.
