Everywhere I am looking there is a trail of weeping (FAITHFUL) customers looking for spare parts... perhaps you have found your retirement niche (DISMANTLING & PARTING OUT... WAIT.. . There are a couple of possibilities. The first is that there is something wrong with the unit itself. If that is the case, time for a new one. They are not cost effective to repair. If it is still under warranty, you may luck out. The other possibility, and this occurs frequently, depends on how you powered it. These units usually only come with a 4 - to - 6 foot cord. Many people add an extension cord to that to reach an outlet. They tend to use a normal household dollar store type extension cord. These are not really rated for the kind of current that these appliances draw. Thus, when the appliance demand the current it needs, the cord cannot supply it, resulting in a voltage drop across the cord, resulting in an even higher current on the line. This will cause heating of the cord(s). If you use a device like this with an extension cord, you should use an appliance extension cord that is rated for the full amperage of the circuit.
