Nesco Dehydrator Quits Working or Overheats
These Nesco dehydrators have a bi-metal thermostat. The surface of the contacts will sometimes corrode and stick together or short with the corrosion. It can be intermittent. This causes the unit to heat to a high temperature. This causes solder to melt or the thermal fuse to blow. Take it apart and clean the contacts of the thermostat with fine sandpaper or thin file. If needed the replacement fuse is a 5x12mm, 235 degree 2.5 amp 250 volt thermal fuse available from Radio Shack online or at store. An ohm meter will tell you if the fuse is bad.
