The only reasons I can think of are two: 1. Personal safety. If someone gets their hand(s) burned using what they think is the cold water, you can be held liable in court. 2. Building codes. You may have issues when time to sell if an inspector catches the problem then.

Look underneath the faucet to see if something stored in the cupboard is tangled up in the hose.

To install a drain through the DIY technique can be tough, provided you have all the tools and equipment to perform the task. there is supposed to be a nut with a washer under the sink in the center, the metal plate is just for decoration, the nut and washer have to be installed before the sprayer is attached the stem that it connects to has threads on it for the nut your faucet should have came with a long socket made of plastic to install the nut

Throw a cloth over the cover to prevent scratching the finish and grab it with a large pair of channel locks and unscrew it.

The most likely cause is the shutoff valve under the sink has lost part of the rubber washer and has traveled into the faucet. Faucets don't get airlocks

you may need to get the moen cartridge puller,either moen brand, or brass craft, they can be tough to pull some time's

some new faucets come with there on supply lines when you tighten one will twist at the top near the faucet look under the sink to see if this has happened. i've had it happen not long ago

If you take the handle off there is a small black nut that holds the cartridge in a lot of times that nut comes loose from the factory just snug that nut up with a pair of pliers if that does not work you need a new cartridge the cartridges are free if you call 1 800buyMoen just tell them your model number and what's going on they will send you the new parts at no charge
