Liebherr frost free fridge/freezer

Try these solutions in these order:
1. Switch off the fridge and leave the door open overnight. Switch it back on in the morning.
Explanation: The sensor inside the fridge gets frozen and cannot control the temperature properly.
2. Switch off the fridge. Unplug it. At the back of the fridge (behind the unit, not inside) there is a large grid. Clean it with a hoover thoroughly. Open the fridge. Dry the back of the fridge if wet (inside the fridge). If frosted wait for it to defrost and then dry it. Plug in the fridge. Switch the fridge back on. This one worked for me.
Explanation: The dust in the grid deprives the fridge from cooling down and the unit can't control the temperature in the fridge section.
3. Switch off the fridge. -Unplug it. Empty it. Turn it upside down. Plug it in. Switch it on for 24 hours. Switch it off. Unplug, return to normal and switch on.
Explanation: This has to do with the pressure of the gas inside the compressor. I have not tried it but this advice as given to me by a qualified electrician when I commented the (in)famous F2 problem in Liebherr fridge/freezers.
Hope it helps. Regards. Albert

I have water dripping down the back panel inside the fridge-it is constant. I wipe down the inside back wall, but hours later the water is back. The fridge appears to have a "channel" for this water

with out knowing name brand an model# i would say it sounds like there is a drain tube missing from the upper patr or freezwr area to the drain hole at the rear bottom . there is a drain pan under the refridge which catches this water then it evarperates. it also cab that the proper drain is pluged or blocked with algie which is comon try a little bleach to clean out the drain area

Liebherr cs1611 collecting ice at bottom of freezer. Can see water stream from behind back panel. What to do?

Two Fixes needed here. Address the leak and get rid of the ice:

Things You Will Need
  • Screwdriver
  • Pliers
  • Hose connector
  • Hose clamp
  • Bleach
  • Cup
  • Insulated cooler
  • Hand-held hair dryer
  • Baking soda
  • Turkey baster Things You Will Need
    • Screwdriver
    • Pliers
    • Hose connector
    • Hose clamp
    • Basting syringe
    • Bleach
    • Cup
1 FINDING & STOPPPIING THE LEAK: Unplug the freezer when doing a manual defrost or when removing the front panel to gain access to the drip pan or the drain hose. 2 Unscrew the front or rear panel on your freezer with a screwdriver to gain access to the freezer drain hose and the drip pan. The freezer will only drain during the defrost cycle, whether this is an automatic function or a manual function. If it drains at any other time, there is a problem with the unit that must be addressed by a trained professional. 3 Empty the drip pan. The freezer drain hose will drain the defrost water into a drip pan at the bottom of the freezer. When this pan becomes full, it will leak water onto the floor. This is a regular maintenance task whenever the freezer defrosts. Empty the drip pan during the defrost cycle. 4 Check the drain hose if there is leaking water and the drip pan is empty. The hose may have become separated from a hose coupler, or it may have been pinched or cut somehow. If the hose has separated from a hose coupler, it can be reconnected by squeezing the hose clamp and pushing the hose back onto the coupler. Make sure the clamp is positioned over the point where the hose meets the coupler. If the hose has been cut or sliced open, insert a hose coupler into the hose and clamp it together on both sides. Small plastic couplers are available at hardware stores. Take one end of the hose with you so that you obtain the right size coupler and the correctly sized clamps. 5 Remove the drain plug and allow the freezer to drain if your freezer is so equipped. If the plug is not removed, the water will back up into the freezer and drain out of the bottom. Once the drain plug is removed, place a pan beneath it to catch the water, or if you are near a drain, position the freezer over it and let the water drain out. This is most often done on chest freezers that are manually defrosted, but older manually defrosted upright freezers may also have drain plugs. 6 Purge the drain line using a basting syringe. Mix up a 50/50 bleach and water solution into a cup. Suck the solution into a basting syringe and squirt it down the drain tube. If there is a dirt or grime plug, the solution will clean the tube and allow the drain water to run free. This method can only be done if the entrance to the drain tube is accessible. If you need to remove service panels to gain access, a professional service technician must be called.

GETTING RID OF THE ICE:

1

Disconnect your refrigerator from the electrical wall outlet.

2

Empty your freezer of all food items. Place them in an insulated cooler to keep them frozen. Pour the ice from your ice dispenser into the cooler, as the ice will melt in the bin and stick together. This will cause the ice dispenser to have difficulty dispensing ice after your repairs are completed.

3

Remove the freezer shelves and any bins or trays along the bottom. Squeeze the two sides of the light cover to unhook it from its clips and remove it. Remove the light bulb from its socket.

4

Disconnect any ground wire attached to the panel beneath the light bulb. This could attach with a small green ground screw or a clip.

5

Remove the screws holding the rear panel to the back wall of the freezer. Carefully lift the rear panel from the freezer, as the sides of the panel could be sharp. Removing the panel exposes the freezer coils.

6

Plug a hand-held hair dryer into a grounded wall outlet. Set the hair dryer on the lowest setting and turn on the power.

7

Wave the hair dryer back and forth across the freezer coils to thaw them. Trace the coils down to the drain hole in the bottom of the freezer. Aim the hair dryer at the drain to thaw it. Make sure you wave the dryer back and forth to avoid melting any plastic parts.

8

Listen for the water from the drain line to drip into the drain pan beneath the refrigerator. Once you successfully thaw the drain, mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 2 cups of hot water. Force the mixture through the drain line in the floor of the freezer with a turkey baster. This will clean the drain line and thaw any remaining ice.

9

Install the back wall panel in the freezer by reversing the steps you used to remove the panel. Replace any shelves and bins you removed and all frozen food items in the freezer. Reconnect your refrigerator to the electrical wall outlet.

Hope this helps!!!
