The panel or the mainboard is bad and is broken for your TV. Or it could be caused by electromagnetic siginal interference from appliances in your house.
First off, a main board will never cause a backlight issue like this, the main either turns them on or it doesn't. The inverter for the backlights on this and a few other LG sets have the current tolerance extremely sensitive, there are 2 supplies driving the backlights, one supply for 4 strips the other for 6 and each is independent where one can work and the other not work. Where did you buy the LED lights? Were they some off brand knock off lamp strips or did you get them from a reputable place like shopjimmy? A gut feeling is you have bad lamps, the power board seldom gives issues on this model, if you get them from shopjimmy have them send you another set. Also it's possible for the lamps to work on a LED tester but not work in the TV, I've seen it many times.
call 877-543-8325 this is an LG Executive call center and they will fix this for free. I have a 50" plasma I bought january 2006 which is out of warranty by 5 months. They faxed me and the LG repair shop a 30 day warranty for my tv to cover the repair. Just tell them you heard a pop and in my case the picture is distorted. All they need is the model number and serial number and they should take care of it. No arguing needed.
Unfortunately you have encountered a common issue with home television repair. This article explains.

We do have one television expert here named Larry, and hopefully, he will chime in. I can't find anything on 'blink code 8'. That new board is faulty.
Hi,
I think that LG uses a specialized motherboard that allows the missing features to work. So, if you didn't get the motherboard from LG, this could be the issue. You can reach out to LG to ask if they can supply you that. Thank you.
If you buying from ebay it's very possible for this model TV to have two power boards that are defective as it has a history of LED issues that damage the power board, a lot of sellers on ebay get broken screen TVs and remove the boards and sell them without testing or having any idea how a TV works, send both back you bought on ebay at the sellers expense if they were guaranteed working. Shopjimmy.com has a kit with both the supply and new LED's that will be tested and work, this set uses a couple different LED strips that aren't interchangeable, make sure you match correctly
The procedure is simple. Hold down the TV POWER button and press a number botton. Release the TV POWER button. The manuel gives the following list of codes:
LG/GoldStar....1 (predetermined), 2
Zenith...1, 3, 4
Samsung... 6, 7
Siny... 8, 9
Hitachi... 4
I have an RCA and 6 worked for me.
