Kitchen aid ksss42 not cooling fan runs
Hi,
With this particle number you gave there are over 40 different models. So I seek a better model number or a complete number to assist you better. Some models had a inverter to control the compressor and I have seen failure due to heat or surges. But without a model number to verify I can't and won't direct you on a fish hunt without the correct information. Get back to me with more information please. I’m happy to help further over the phone at

Bad water & ice cube taste
Our refridgerator has terrible tasting ice and water and we have tried everything to fix it. Is there a sure fire way to fix the problem. I would love to use the ice maker and water.

Kitchenaid superba side by side refrigerator - freezer is cold but refrigerator is not. (55F) at times very little air coming from freezer. What is the fix?
Can often be caused by ice blocking the cold air path air from the freezer. You may not be able to see the ice buildup but it's likely to be around the evaporator fins and could be due to a blocked ice-melt drain tube.
Probably worth emptying the freezer contents into a chilly bin or well insulated box (to keep it frozen) and leaving switched off with the freezer door open for half a day to let any ice melt, then see it it has started working again. If there is lots of water in the freezer after this you might want to find the drain tube (usually comes out above the compressor motor) and clear it (plastic coated flexible spring line for hanging curtains is good for this).
Freezer drawers will not come out of freezer in my Kitchen Aid refrigertor
Unload the drawers. Pull the drawer all the way out until it stops. Then lift the front of the freezer drawer (a couple of inches), and pull out further (4-6"). The front will then lower to the floor. Lift the back of the drawer upward and slid the entire drawer forward. You may want to protect your floor.
