My Kenmore Model 110.47081 front load washing machine is throwing a code F20. Water supply is fine. input H & C screens are clear. Any suggestions?

The washer's F20 code indicates that it hasn't filled to the expected level in the usual ~8 minutes. Does any water actually enter the washer? If it doesn't, then the inlet valves are not opening. If you get a trickle of water, then the valves may be clogged. In both cases, replacing the inlet valve solves the problem. (For a slow fill, sometimes using household vinegar can break up the calcium carbonate. This is usually a temporary solution.) If the water enters the tub and then the pump starts draining the unit, adjust the drain hose. You need the end of the drain hose higher than the water level in the tub. If water is pouring into the tub and it fills normally, then the system that detects water flow is damaged. This involves a pressure switch that has an air hose connected to part of the sensor. Check if this hose is damaged or clogged. Blow out the clog and see if that fixes the problem. Otherwise replace the pressure switch. I can't find a 110.47081 parts diagram. Check your washer for the model number. There are probably three additional digits to the model suffix. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

My water meter says my front load Kenmore washer, model He 4t from 2016, is using 530 gallons for a heavy load. How is that possible?

On average, washing machines use 19 gallons of water per load, and the average household runs between 5 and 6 loads per week. Based on those figures, most washers use up to 5,605 gallons of water annually. Front-load washers use an average of 12.5 gallons of water per load, while top-load washers average 19.6 gallons per load. Older top-load models manufactured decades ago use 40 or more gallons of water per load. Possibly reading the meter incorrectly... ck here... https://plumbingsniper.com/how-to-read-a-water-meter/ My 1.5" water line to fill my pool puts out 12 gallons a minute it would take 45 minutes running full out to put out 530 gallons. Best to you.

Agitator: bottom moves, top does not

If the bottom agitates and not the top, the problem is likely the 4 "agitator dogs" designed to allow the top agitator to turn only one way.

On the Sears parts site:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?pop=true&modelNumber=110.26902691&pop=flush

replace the 110.26902691 with your model number (lift the lid and the model number should be printed on the cabinet) and look at the section on the Sears site for Agitator, basket and tub.

This is what they look like:

pd_26_110_80040?$pddetailsth$ #21 on diagram Dog, agitator (4) Number:3366877Substitution:80040 $9.25Remove the fabric softener unit, lift the top agitator cap (use a screwdriver) and you should see a plastic part in the center of the top agitator with a 1/2" square drive.

Remove the drive and lift off the top agitator. Turning it over you should see the 4 "dogs", replace these and the top agitator should turn in one direction only.

Replace the 1/2" drive, the cap and fabric softener unit and the top agitator should work.

My Kenmore elite HE 4t front loader stops before the spin cycle

Washing machines will not spin until they have emptied most of the water from the drum. I would check the outlet pipe is clear and the pump runs with no obstruction first.

Water is not pumped away, or stops in the middle

Recall the error codes by activating the Automatic Diagnostic Test Mode to determine the cause of the problem. Select any one button, except Power, Start, and Stop, and follow this:
Press and hold the button for 3 seconds>Release the button for 3 seconds>Press and hold the button for 3 seconds>Release the button for 3 seconds>Press and hold the button for 3 seconds

All of the indicators on the console will light up for 5 seconds while 88 is displayed on the Estimated Time Remaining display. If not, repeat the step. Let us know if it cannot be activated.

The program then checks for any saved error codes after 5 seconds. List down the codes and post it back here. The console indicators will turn off then on with the 88 displayed if no error codes are recalled. After 5 seconds, the automatic test begins. The program performs a four-minute automatic test to check major washer functions. Press the same selected button in activating the automatic test above to advance through the automatic test steps.

  1. C0: The motor goes to a slow spin.
  2. C1: Warm water fills through the fresh dispenser and basket floats then disengage.
  3. C2: Cold water fills through the bleach valve for 10 seconds.
  4. C3: Hot water fills through the fabric softener valve for 10 seconds.
  5. C4: Warm water fills through the detergent valve for 10 seconds.
  6. C5: Agitates for 15 seconds.
  7. C6: Recirculates for 10 seconds.
  8. C7: Drains to engage basket and drain further for 10 seconds.
  9. C8: Drains and spins slowly.
  10. C9: Coasts to stop.
  11. Press the Stop or Power button to cancel/exit the test.
Inform us about the result of the test for the repair guide if necessary.

Kenmore 80 series will spin when draining, but not agitate or spin during spin cycle.

Hello. I'm a little confused at the description of the problem. You indicated it, "will not agitate during wash cycle or spin during the spin cycle." But later in your description you indicated, "It will however, drain and spin after wash cycle and during the rinse cycle." I'm not sure if you description was an error but it sounds like you will need to replace the coupling which is part number 285753A.
