Hamilton beach water cooler is not cooling
Sounds like the fans have stoped turning for the cooling system. If you cannot hear the fans turn on when you flip the COOL switch this is your problem. Pick the fans up at a computer parts store like Frys. Any other part failure on this unit other than a loose wire is not worth repairing. A little oil inside the motor and several revolutions later might get some relief until a new motor is installed.

you need to purge the air out of the "hot" side after placing the bottle on top. If not enough water is inside the chamber the water will boil.

thermostat is stuck. try buying a water cooler control from a local supply house.
Not cooling
First check to see if compressor is running. If compressor is running and no cool, then you might have a loss of freon in the system. If it's not running, it might be electrical or a sensor telling it not to turn on. Let it sit unplugged for an hour to see if it can reset.
Grease most likely dried up on one cooling motor. If the motor hasn't burned up, you can try to re-oil the motor. Sometimes they have an oil slot on back, then spin by hand until it becomes free. Be careful not to get your hand caught in the blade when running.
Good Luck and Hope you fix it!
Viva bottom loading water cooler does not dispense water

Brett 42 said: the water line is froze.. I took a hair dryer and applied it directly to the dispenser for about 10 minutes. I then held down the buttton for approximately 30 seconds and the water began to drip extremely slowly then faster until a small chunk of ice shot out of the dispenser. I believe the reason this happened was that I the temp of my freezer set lower than the fatory setting.
Mike Smith said: "1) remove the tubing connector behind refrig kickplate . Press for water . If no water comes from tube under refrig , then possibly frozen tank but probably not . Probably bad water inlet valve . ( tank is in the lower potrion of the refrig section behind the crispers ) .
2) if water does shoot out , then your freezer door is frozen which requires leaving door open and tapeing light switch closed and tape plastic around freezer section opening so fridge will continue to operate normally . Thawing freezer door could take a day or 2 . 3) You can plug the hoses back togather and walk by occasionally pressing water untill comes out . Lower your freezer temperature setting also ( could be set for too cold)"
I hope this helps you out!
