Electrolux door alarm Won't stop. We open door to turn off alarm. Temp seems right but slight condensation at the very top of the fridge. Need to at least disable alarm until I can get a repair.

Check the back wall of the freezer, I would suspect the beginnings of or a full-on defrost failure... If there is frost on the back wall of the freezer it means the evaporator is blocked, disallowing airflow to the fridge compartment... Electrolux Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat 216731001 . Hello Gentlemen; My name is Peter; I am a retired field service refrigeration technician. The two of you are on the right track. When the electronic control board senses the compressor needs to run to cool the refrigerator, it sends voltage to the compressor and fans. It then receives input from temperature sensors to monitor the temperatures inside the refrigerator and freezer sections. This is a substitution and can not communicate with your existing electrical control board. You need tor replace this board was well: 19294535-2wop33oc00rzrbarpm5t54vf-3-2.jpg Substitution: 241973711 Cost: $83.00 The electronic control board 241973711 controls the major electro-mechanical components in the refrigerator. When the electronic control board senses the compressor needs to run to cool the refrigerator, it sends voltage to the compressor and fans. When you plugged in your old board and got power, that is because the two boards were communicating. When you change the board be careful to ground yourself by touching something that is bare metal. Static electricity will knock out a board. The Electrolux Frigidaire Refrigerator is a good unit. It should last you 20-30 years. If you want a unit that is in constant repair, buy either a Samsung or LG. They have the highest failure and repair cost of all of the manufacturers.

I have an Electrolux upright freezer glfh21f8hwb. It runs for about 3 days, then shuts off and displays error code OF and shuts off. If I reset it with the temp control, it starts again and freezes, but shuts off again in a few days. I just replaced the controller and capacitor with OEM Electrolux parts because it wasn't working at all. With those new parts, it started working again, but now I am getting the OF code. Please advise.

Sorry but I know nothing of the new-fangled fridges and freezers with their codes, but what does tend to stop an appliance that otherwise works well is a lack of cooling air around the motor/compressor unit and when the unit works harder during the summer or in the depths of winter when the heating is full on the thermal protection can cut power to the unit. Cleaning dust and fluff, ensuring all the power connections are clean and tight and not generating heat and ensuring there is adequate air space between the wall and the unit.

I defrosted my Electrolux intuition chest freezer yesterday and the red warning triangle on the lid won't stop flashing now. Why?

Check the temperature inside the freezer, chances are it just is letting you know it hasn't reached the correct temperature yet.

Hello Wally, thanks for your post! Based off the information you have provided you would like to know the location of the water line inside of your Frigidaire refrigerator. The water line is located within the wall of your refrigerator it is not accessible. The best way to clear out a frozen water line is to disconnect power from the refrigerator for at least two to three hours. This will help defrost any ice build-up within the refrigerator. Ice will make and almost overflow and then freezes up at cutter. Who can I call to repair?

Hello Lisa; My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician. It sounds like you have a broken wire in your cutter. This is a easy part to replace. You have an electrical connector and some screws to remove. If I were still working for , "Sears Home Services", with part I would be charging you about $300.00 -$350.00 for a repair that you can do yourself. Go into the following website. Plug in your model number. Get the part number, then search the internet for bet price. You can repair this. Water Filters Lawn Garden Appliance Parts

Ice freezing up on the evaporator

If the unit is equipped with 'auto-defrost' the defrost heater or its timer has failed. Another possibility is a bad door seal.

Electrolux FFU14F5HWB has intermittent defrost issues

Thank you for your post friend.

I understand that you are having intermittent defrost issues with your Frigidaire refrigerator. Are you experiencing an accumulation of ice buildup, are you losing food? Defrost issues can be caused by a variety of things such as a defective defrost heater, thermostat or defective door gasket. I recommend that you visually inspect the door gasket for defects such as gaps or tears. You can also use a dollar bill to test the door gasket. Place a dollar bill in between the door and the body of the freezer. If the dollar bill pulls out with no to little resistance, you may need to replace the door gasket. A faulty door gasket can allow warm air to enter the compartment and cause frost to buildup.

If there is a miscommunication within your freezer, a reset can possibly correct this issue. I recommend that you reset your refrigerator by unplugging it for 10 minutes. I hope this information has been helpful. -NS

Why does oil leak at the bottom of the Gibson refrigerator door

Hello Susan; My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician. You do not have any oil in your system with the exception of a few ounces in the bottom of your compressor. This is not your problem. You have a water leak. The water will run across the bottom coils and the floor. By the time it reaches the front of your unit it looks oily. Pull you unit out. Make sure you raise the leveling screws in the front first. Remove the lower back cover. There are a few screws holing it on. 1.) Inspect the drain pan. Is it leaking? 2.) Inspect the water shut off valve. Is it leaking. 3.) Inspect the plastic tubing to your water filter, ice maker and water dispenser. Plastic tubing will dry rot and crack over time due to the heat. 4.) Have someone press your water dispenser while you observe for leaks in the back.
