Riding mower keeps melting the electric pto
The switch is being subjected to too much current draw or the connectors are burnt and are causing a high impedance joint
Both produce heat , both will kill switches
Check the rating of the replacement switches it will tell you what they are able to take in the way of load and fit new spade terminals or make sure that the connections are clean and bright.
Have you fitted any other items to the mower such as lights with halogen bulbs
If so then you will have to put a relay into the circuit and use the original line as a trigger for the relay

Craftsman 37700 150cc 21" Front Wheel Drive Push Self Propelled Mower with no primer took 6 pulls to start then once started it surges like rearrrrrrr rearrrrrrr rearrrrrrr the whole time running.
This we call hunting, it is due to a fuel blockage in the carb, it needs the carb and jets cleaning, if you are ok on the spanners, remove the carb from the engine, remove the screw in the float bowl and remove the bowel, the main jet and emulsion tube are screwed up inside the carb, remove and clean, you can purchase jet cleaning wires which will sort out the cleaning, you can also use carb cleaner.
