I have a celestron Cosmos 90 GT Wifi telescope and so far haven't been able to use it. I struggle with aligning the telescope to 3 bright stars... if by chance it says its aligned when I choose a star

Aligning a scope requires several things to be correct. 1. You must follow the setup in manual 100% 2. You must pick the correct alignment stars. Most failed alignments are because you aligned on the wrong star. So alignment requires you to learn the names of a few bright stars and be able to spot them in the sky. 3. With many goto scopes there might be a "home position" to start the alignment. For example, tube pointed roughly North, and level. Check your manual for a "home position. Also time, date, and site must be correct. Clear skies, TelescopeMan www.telescopeman.org and www.telescopeman.info

How can I use my telescope to safely view the solar eclipse?

Yes, you can, but with qualifications. You are evidently aware that you must never view the sun through the eyepiece of a scope without proper protective attachments being used. Blindness in that eye will be instant. Solar eclipse spectacles will not be sufficient protection as the light is focused powerfully at the eyepiece. You can safely use a glass solar filter which attaches to the front of the scope. Tape it on for extra safety. http://www.optcorp.com/astrozap-1506-glass-solar-filter-fa-73mm-79mm.html You can attach a piece of solar-protective film to the front aperture of the scope. Do so securely. http://www.optcorp.com/astrozap-solar-film-250mm-x-250mm-visual-az-1030.html You should not ever use a solar viewing filter which attaches to the end of the eyepiece. There were a lot of these around until governments began banning them. The danger is that the concentrated heat of the solar image at that point will crack the filter, leaving your eye unprotected in an instant.

What is the switch for below the viewing lens on a Celestron Astromaster EQ76 telescope?

Your picture is not very clear. However there is a complete setup video located here. I did NOT notice any switch near the eyepiece; only the thumbscrews used to hold the eyepiece in the focuser. http://www.celestron.com/browse-shop/astronomy/telescopes/astromaster-76eq-telescope#

Focus the celestron 21043

What power eyepiece are you using? Use an intermediate power eyepiece like 20mm. This will give you a really nice view of the Moon. Too high a magnification eyepiece, will cause blur views.

Having been given a Celestron LT 76AZ for Christmas, the viewer seems to be in the wrong place, ie horizontal, and the image seen is upside down - can I rectify this?

This telescope works by a mirror. The image is upside down, sorry. However you might want to get a Telescope USB camera, then you can see the image on your PC the right way up.

How to retrieve item dropped inside Celestron C8 telescope

Very Important! Mark the corrector with tape between the corrector and the side so you can put it back in the exact same place. Do NOT tilt the scope down or the eyepiece will slam into the secondary or the corrector plate, Remove the screws holding the corrector. A strong suction cup can help lift it out (will make a mark to be cleaned later. Gently tilt the scope down to remove the eyepiece. Re assemble and you will probably have to collumate.

Image is upside down in Celestron PowerSeeker 114AZ telescope

That's because this telescope is what's called a reflector. The image in reflector telescopes are upside down. This isn't an issue since reflectors are designed for looking at the night sky.
