Won't scan - says not enough disk space.
I had the same problem. Solved it by going into the "CanoScan Toolbox" - "Settings" - and pressing the "Defaults" button in that panel - and then "OK" button. Afterwards everything worked fine. Hope this helps you.

you have to run wire from you main router to the switch and put it in the in port. then you can plug in your computers from there. now if you have anew er one and it is wire less you still will hav to run a wire to the router. unless you get a repeter then all you have to do is log onto your routher and then use it like your main router

Perhaps you have forgotten to unplug the scanner before scanning? That's
what happened to me. I kept getting different error codes, 5,202,63 or
5,202,52 or 5,202,54 and also a message that the driver was not in the
TWAIN folder. According to the help file the problem might have been due
to my nfts file system. I also tried downloading various new drivers.
Nothing helped until I noticed that I had not unplugged the scanner!

Power down the scanner and unplug the USB from your computer. Plug the USB back in and turn power back on. Occasionally USB connections lose their minds and quit working.
Good luck.

I cannot email a scanned letter. I get the
As a quick fix, if I could see it on the screen, it should be possible to save it to the drive taking note of what name you saved it as. If you then drag and drop the file onto your opened email, it should attach to the email. If it doesn't, you should be able to drill down to where the file is on the drive via the paperclip symbol.
If the screen scan saves only as one page at a time, hopefully you can save each page as a PDF or convert what you do save to PDF. CutePDF or PrimoPdf may offer a driver for the conversion. There is a program called PDF binder (freeware) that does a great job of welding several pages into one file. Possibly the freeware program File Minimizer might reduce the file size. Yes, this is a time consuming work around but it gives you an option.
I doubtlessly have cracked up some other helpers with this convoluted method but at least you have my "bear claws and stone tools" method.

The folder for saving temporary files must exist, and it might not by default. In MP Navigator EX check "Use the scanner driver" and then click "Open Scanner Driver". In the scanner driver window, click "Preferences" in the lower right. On the Scanner tab/page, set "Select Folder Where Temporary Files are Saved" to a place which exists

Hello friend,

If you believe the scanner is still functional it is possible it won't operate with Windows 7. I have a laser printer like that and no updated drivers are available and in spite of using the Windows Compatibility function the printer is now useless.
You could try uninstalling the scanner driver and restarting the computer and then when you reconnect your scanner a "found new hardware" wizard should appear which can search the internet for a suitable driver.
You could also try using the Windows Compatibility function that in theory allows earlier software to be used - mostly unsuccessfully in my experience.
