Scanner error code 2 179 11 ? please help..
Disconnect the usb (which is the power source) to the printer. Next, install the printer driver. If you don't have it handy, get it from the Cannon site where you will locate it by Computer model. Download it, double click upon it to install it. Keep an eye on the name of the file as you download it because you will have to find it on your computer.)
Next, check that the driver was installed in Device Manager. (Look in Printers)
After that, plug the usb back into the printer, powering it. Turn on the printer. Your computer should detect it shortly, automatically. If it does not, turn off everything. Turn back on the computer. Turn on the printer. Good luck.

What you need to do is run the driver setup in windows XP compatibility mode.
Right click on the setup icon, select properties, compatibilities tab then select Windows XP SP3 (or some older version of Windows.
Then left click on the "Change settings for all users" button and from the new window select again XP service pack 3 compatibility and check the "Run this program as an administrator". Click OK and then run the setup application.
It worked for me on Windows 7 ultimate.
Internal error code 5, 202, 54
Perhaps you have forgotten to unplug the scanner before scanning? That's what happened to me. I kept getting different error codes, 5,202,63 or 5,202,52 or 5,202,54 and also a message that the driver was not in the TWAIN folder. According to the help file the problem might have been due to my nfts file system. I also tried downloading various new drivers. Nothing helped until I noticed that I had not unplugged the scanner!
Cannot communicate with scanner cable

Will my D660U run on
The answere for me so far has been no. However I was successful with scanning in three documents for tennis scores today by installing the XP twain driver in MS Virtual PC in XP mode this installed all the drivers. But after the scanner powered down after timing out, nothing in my power could get it to work again for another document. To say the least I'm pretty Pissed about the whole thing. Knowing that as purchasers of these products were just left in the learch for upgrading to the latest version of windows and the manufacturer of the products can't be stuffed developing drivers for their products. Says a lot about Canon and their dodgy products and customer focus. Screw you Canon, I won't be buying your products again. Go with the times or get left behind!
Canon Lide 110 scans the image in upside down. Is there a setting to flip it automatically?
Unfortunately, that's normal for this particular model. If you read the manual, or in this case the Quickstart Guide, you'll note that the top left corner is meant to go into the arrow corner. I'm annoyed with it too. You can always do it in Post-processing by doing two "turn image 90 degrees". If there would be a setting, it would be in the scanning program as the driver for this scanner has no settings available; you would have to check to see if there's a 'reverse image' setting in the program, though I doubt it.

internal error occured
code: 5,202,52
TO ANYONE READING THIS...I nearly took a hammer and smashed my Canon LIDE 110 Scanner cause I was so mad that it gave me this stupid error (5,202,52) no matter where I was connecting it and I thought it was done...THEN I just took another USB Cable (Like I have around 10 different USB Cables) ...AND IT WORKED! Try several USB cables before you give up on it...also don't start messing around with drivers and stuff, you could end up screwing up your system like I did...I hope this helps someone out there in the future with error 5,202,52 or 5,202,54, etc.Try at least 4-5 different USB cables before anything else..(If you want to know, I successfully used the USB cable with one of the fat black circle things on it (I think its for power or something), not just a straight usb cable. It's still a 5 pin USB cable however (Regular USB on one side, small 5 pin connecter on the other side))
