Those lines are usually caused by an edge connection on the actual display. The connection can come loose or get corrosion and then cause lines. To repair this means that you will be taking the unit apart all the way down to the screen and pressing along the edges to see where the bad connection is. There are you tube videos on the problem in general but you have a large screen and it requires special handling and care.

DIODE or sensor in the unit. Not user serviceable

There are a couple of things that could cause this. One is a bad diode in the power supply and the other is a bad sensor in the playback unit near the head. Neither one is job for anyone that has no experience in electronic repairs.

Point your cell phone camera at the remote and press a button on the remote and look for a purple light that whould appear on your camera screen. IF there is no light and the batteries in the remote are good, then the remote is bad.
