The Navy, Army and Marines have recruits drop out at roughly the same rate, between 11 and 14 percent. If you are a swimmer and runner then you are in better shape than 90% of the other recruits. Boot camp is also a mental challenge. The goal is to train you to have discipline, teamwork, and strong success driven attitude. If you are really worried, talk to a Marine recruiter. I recommend joining the Air Force if you want to become a pilot however, people don't just become pilots after having a Bachelors. You have to meet the requirements, pass the exams and be medically cleared and in shape, this applies to all branches. On the other hand its a challenge that only you can decide. I recommend talking to the nearest recruiter.

No. most countries organized armed forces will issue the weapons they want you to use. they can better maintain and support them rather than having 100s of different types of weapons. You may still own your own personal weapon if your local laws allow.
