There is a spring operated probe that goes into the base and is part of the safety interlock. Yours is stuck. Funny, I answered this question yesterday. Remove the lid and spray in some WD40 into the hollow exterior channel part of the bowl. Then operate the spring with a cocktail stick or similar. The spring isn't rising to release the bowl from the base.

Try with Granny Smith apples and make sure they are this season and not last years. Also try the juicer with oranges to prove it is the apples and not the juicer. It could be the fuse is bad and the cord is also bad too. The fuse inside of the juicer and the power cord will both need to be replaced.If the motor has quit working then you will have to buy another juicer.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved from Washing Machines to a better category. This appears to be an Australian machine and is unknown in North America. The is nothing on it apart from people selling them and no manual available. Normally, you remove the top. Then you remove the macerator, the part with the teeth. Then finally the basket. You wipe out the machine with a wet cloth and put it back together again after washing rinsing and drying the removable parts. This is a vintage machine and no manual exists. The closest I can find is the MJ-66. I just had the same problem with my juicer. Here's what I did to solve it. FIRST, UNPLUG IT!. Next, take all the accessory parts off of it. Then, turn the base unit upside down and shake it around a bit. Then put it back on the counter in the regular upright position and start jiggling the power switch back and forth. After I did this, the power switch started moving again.

Edible grease.

Check the assembly is correct and if faulty, have it replaced under warranty. If out of warranty ... should have checked it sooner perhaps.
