Brother Sewing Machines - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

I had the same problem a while back and ask here. I was told to take it to a tech. Not the answer I was looking for. I did some searching and found a diagram then knew what I needed. Here is my reply... I just replaced mine. wasn't hard at all. I couldn't find just the plastic part, had to buy the whole thing. First it is called a Presser foot shaft assembly, part #xb0876001. You can buy it from Sew4Less.com and it cost me 25.57 with shipping. You will have to remove the front cover and take out the two screws holding the bar in. You will also need to remove the lifter bar and end panel to get the bar out. Insert your new part and replace the covers and lifter bar. This is how I fixed mine. Hope it helps.

Any F messages on the machine indicates that the machine is malfunctioning. You will have to take it to a dealer to have it fixed usually.

Hi, the only reason I can think of is that it might be the fan belt that moves the arm that is causing the problem. Best to take it in to a professional to look at it for you. Good luck

Some machines do not have a centered needle as a default. That is just how they were made. If she can reposition the needle to the center, then that is a pretty good option. Most older machines with the offset needles default do not have a centering option. (I have an old Nelco that has an offset default--works just fine but I just have to remember that when stitching, the seam line will not be in the center of the presser foot.)

need to check the hook timing. put it in zig zag, no fabric, turn the hand wheel to you slowly. check the needle when it is coming back up, is the hook picking up the thread? if yes continue to check the next side, so if you check the left side then check the right. if any side its not picking up the thread then the timing is off and need to be retimed

Which model machine is this? Do you know roughly how old it is? This is so I can check what setup it has and if I can find an owners manual for it for you.

If you can remove the cover on the left side you will see the presser foot bar. On the bar there will be a screw that may be loose. Turn the handwheel until the needle is all the way down and lift the foot manually until just before it makes contact with the needle clamp and tighten the screw on the presser foot bar. That should do it.

Yes you are right, it is not available anywhere. If it was this specially crafted search link would find it. Lots of 1034D available. You would have to have one made if you have a broken one as a pattern.
