Does bird food have to be fresh?
Just likewith human food - fresh food is best for birds but that's not always practical. When you buy bird food, check it for any obvious infestations of bugs and grainweevils. If you find any, return it to the shop immediately.

What should I prefer for my birds, straight or live food?
I don't know what type of birds you have but you should know
that Live foods are very beneficial to birds. If you think about it, that's
part of their diet in the wild. Live foods are important sources of protein for
young birds as well as attractive and nutritious.
Basically, I would mix grains and straight food with live
food for their diet.

What food should I give my African grey?
African
greys in the wild feed primarily on fruits and seeds, and palm nuts but captive-bred
African Greys are fed a diet of seeds, grain, pellets and frits and vegetables.
I would also recommend adding calcium to their diet by scraping the cuddlebones
over their food or mixing grinded egg shells in their food.

First I would discuss a vet, just to make sure
it is an egg bound. You should be aware that Females cockatiels are known for

What's your problem? Our bird cage finish is chipping. Can I paint it myself?
My recommendation is to call the manufacturer
for paint recommendations and, believe it or not, some cage manufacturers will
do that for you. In any event, you must make sure the paint is nontoxic since
most birds do scratch it with their beak. After painting Make sure you let it
dry completely: Permit the paint to dry for at least 48 hours before moving
your bird into the cage, so be prepared to have a secondary cage on hand. Also
you should know that although paint may be nontoxic when dry, there are paints
may be harmful to your bird if inhaled, so paint it as far as you can from your
birds, outdoor area preferred.
