Hi

Over time the inlet valve becomes partially plugged, reducing the outlet pressure and reducing the water flow rate into the icemaker. If the flow rate is too low then the water will gradually freeze in the tube until it becomes blocked entirely. Many times low water pressure will cause this. You can perform a taste. Get a piece of tubing and attach it to the inlet valve. Run this piece to a container and see if you get any water while the power is off to the valve. You might have a valve that is not shutting completely off. Hard water might cause this. Killing the power to the valve will make the valve inoperable. Actually the purpose of killing the power is to see if the valve is allowing water to bypass even when there is no signal from the switch to do so.Bad inlet valve could be the possibility. So it needs to be ordered and replaced because the valve isn't sealing off properly and it's causing the water to trickle through or drip through the fill tube sometimes, then it freezes before it reaches the icemaker and over time it will clog up the fill tube completely.

Ice maker won't freeze the water

A refrigerator ice maker that freezes up can be caused by a frozen ice maker fill tube, faulty water inlet valve, too low freezer temperature setting, or a water filter that needs replacing. First, locate the water supply to your ice maker and turn off the water supply via the shut off valve

Ksrp25fnbl00 Ice maker stopped producing ice

ksrp25fnbl00 ice maker has stopped making ice. It appears that the water supply that comes down from the top of the interior cabinet is freezing and this is causing the ice tray not to refill. What would cause this?

Maytag model MZD2766GEW. The water tube supplying

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Our ice maker keeps freezing up. I defrost it and it gets stuck again. The drain pipe was also frozen so I just defrosted it but I need to get the ice maker fixed also. Thanks

You need to replace the water valve. The valve is most likely not closing all the way and allowing water to weep into the ice maker and will eventually freeze the supply tube closed.

Ice machine not working, I have water in the door but no ice. looks like there might be a ice buildup. I had a leak in the water line and this problem started after I fixed the water line

Is the ice buildup in the ice bin storage or ice maker. The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Ice maker freezing up

The problem is in the water valve.
The water supply line going to the Ref is connected to a water valve. This valve is not shutting off completely which causes water to drip into the ice maker. This dripping will freeze and eventually completely block the fill tube in the freezer.
