When i start the washer is telling me that the door is open eventhough he door is securely closed. is there a reset botton so i can reset the washer cs i recently moved to another house or please advice

My best guess is the closed limit switch is out of range or defective and telling the controls it is already closed.

I understand that your door indicates it is open and your washer will not operate. Try resetting your washer by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is best to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on your washer. Select a normal cycle and verify if your washer will start. If your washer will not operate then it possibly have a faulty door lock assembly or a communication problem with the control board. To me that sounds like the problem may be within the door switch/lock, on the doorlock asm. is a little botton that sticks out of it,look and see if its their or perhaps its broken off. What that button does is tells the washer the door is closed so it can go ahead and lock it to start the cycle,its perhaps broken off sothe machine doesnt think the door is closed and thusly wont start.

Because of the high spin speeds of front load washers, the doors are equipped with a latch and lock mechanism to prevent the door from being opened during the washers operation. These locks will often be actuated by a solenoid or wax motor to ensure they remain latched during the wash cycle. This model uses a two stage lock that latches the door when the load starts, and then when it is time to spin, the second lock engages to ensure the door is properly secured prior to beginning the spin. When this second lock engages, it also closes a set of switch contacts (the auxiliary door switch) telling the control board the door is closed and locked. If for some reason this switch is not closed, the washer will tumble during what would normally be the spin cycle until the entire cycle is complete.

The door is not locked after 6 trials then the Central Control Unit (CCU) will enters a failure mode and the digital display flashes FdL. This is a door lock failure and the only viable solution is the replacement of the door lock and switch assembly.

Disconnect power to the washer and open the door. Remove the door gasket retaining hoop by stretching apart the retaining spring at the bottom of the door opening.


Gently peel the part of the door gasket near the door lock and switch assembly off the lip of the door opening outer lip. Remove enough of the door gasket to access the door lock and switch assembly behind the front panel.

Remove the three screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel and slightly lift then pull it back off the front panel and out of the out of the washer cabinet.

Connect the wiring harness to the new door lock and switch assembly one at a time then install it back in place behind the front panel.

Secure the door lock and switch assembly then put the eased part of the door gasket back over the outer lip of the door opening. Check that the door gasket is properly seated before putting back and securing the retaining hoop around the lip of the door opening and the door gasket.

The dL error code is a door lock error. The control board will attempt 6 times to lock the door before displaying the F dL error code. This is an indication that either the door lock is malfunctioning or the control board is not responding to the door locking circuit. Be sure the door is securely closed before attempting to start the washer. Open the door & check for clothing or something that may be stuck in the door boot area. If the door is securely closed & you still have the error code I would recommend having the door lock assembly replaced.

Replace door lock. Pretty easy

if thats a microwave.. then the sensor of the closed door is broken.. thats why it worked even when open.. and that is really dangerous...
so.. your best bet would be opening it and find the broken thing that tells the microwave when its closed...

that thing is usually the little secures attach to close the oven..

if its not a microwave, the problem might still be something similar to this..
