Help! Senior citizen, female Blond here........ I have gone as far as I can go on this problem.
#1 - can you tell me where I can download the manual for this tv.?
#2 - Would a manual for a similar DURABRAND tv help, maybe?
#3 - where can I get that manual????????
#4 --- HERE IS A DISCRIPTION of the problem I am having:
I have this perfectly good working tv that all of a sudden has no picture. THE WEIRD thing is the closesd captions are still showing perfectly..
and the channel # in the corner...so I DON'T THINK it is really a REPAIR SHOP problem.
I THINK it is a setting GOOF UP SOMEHOW with the MENU........
I have lost the manual, but I have fiddled and fiddle with the remote..
still have the original remote. I have changed the batteries in it, by the way.
I cannot afford to replace this tv. I believe in my heart is it a simple fix.
Any advise you can give me is welcome.
A similar manual would work if it were a simple problem. it could be that the tv may have gotten too hot and shut the co0nvergance module down. have you unplugged the set for a while and then plugged it back in? over time a connection inside the set could have come loose so it finally came apart? even though you have closed caption which works off the audio signal and not the picture it's self it's obviously not a power problem in general, however it could be that you don't have any voltage going to a chip that controls the picture. unplug the the set and let it sit for a while and see if this will help, if not i'm afraid that you will have to consult a local repairman the problem is not so bad as to have to replace the whole tv
Try a hard reset; it may bring it back to normal. Hard reset is done by unplugging the power cord for 4 hours or more. This will restore all internal soft codes to factory presets.
I'm still looking for the user manual of this unit its a bit hard to find..

Unplug the TV overnight and hopefully that will reset any menu changes you have done. I will attempt to find a link to the manual, but I have been unsuccessful in the pass as Durabrand is a Walmart house brand.
Resetting the TV
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can saved time.
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet for 3 - 4 hours.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.
