Check and secure the hard drive to make sure that the jolt did not mess up the connection to the mo bo. Then go into the bios to make sure that the drive is being recognized. If not recognized then you will get no boot up and it is possible it may have been damaged via the drop.
To confirm hard drive condition remove it and plug it into any desk top computer and see if it is recognized. If so perhaps the mo bo got damaged.

Try to unplug the battery, wait 10-15 seconds and plug it again. Sometimes it gets stucked with hardware issues and this is a kind of "reset". It doesn't affect your data.

Unfortunately Xandros is a paid (yes, you have read correctly , PAID) Linux distro. You will have to pay to get a Live-USB to reinstall.

and follow the instructions to create your own PCLinuxOS (the one i use) Live-USB. You will need another pc for that. After booting from it all you're gonna have to do is to click on the Install icon on the desktop.
