Hello,
Yes the detergent and softener will stay in the dispenser drawer until the correct time for them to be dispensed. The detergent is dispensed during the main wash cycle and the softener will not dispense until the rinse cycle

What you have described is all fine. There is nothing to stop the liquid detergent from flowing from the compartment into the machine, whereas the fabric softner is effectively in a little pot that water gets pumped into to flush it out at the right part of the cycle.

The issue with liquid detergent of course is that if you are doing a very dirty wash and using the second detergent compartmet that most machines have, the liquid all gets used in the first wash. If you are ever doing this, use powder in the second detergent bay so that it doesn't flow away.

I just got a Samsung 4.5 cu. Ft hi-efficiency front load washer with self clean+in white . The book that came with It doesn't have pictures or much instructions.

This could be a Samsung WF45T6000AW washer. On this model (and most similar recent Samsung front-load washers), the dispenser drawer is to the left of the cycle selector dial. When you pull out the drawer, the compartment arrangement is: front left - liquid detergent, front right - liquid fabric softener. Liquid bleach goes into the back compartment. If you are using a powdered detergent, you have to remove the liquid detergent container. It just lifts out. Then put the powdered detergent in the front left- compartment.

I found the Use and Care manual on the product page, https://www.homedepot.com/p/Samsung-4-5-cu-ft-High-Efficiency-Front-Load-Washer-with-Self-Clean-in-White-WF45T6000AW/313846213 , at HomeDepot.com. The current link to this manual is https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfimages/1d/1d90b4de-ebaa-4d5f-a0cf-494bb1ffd212.pdf . The use of the detergent drawer is covered on pages 28-30. The description of the washer control panel starts on page 31. The cycle overview starts at page 35.

I hope this helps.

Whirlpool commercial duty washer - liquid detergent

Jenny what do you mean by 'flow right out of the compartment'. IF the detergent flows right into the machine as you pour, it ok.

Fabric softener compartment

You will need to clear the line from the fabric dispenser to the tub.

Where does the fabric softener and washing powder go in the LG WF-F5207PC 5.5KG top loading washing machine?

Put powdered detergent in the box at the back of the opening of the washer (opposite the control panel when the lid is open). If you use a liquid detergent, dilute it 1:1 with water and pour into the bleach dispenser at the front left of the washer. The fabric softener dispenser is near the bleach dispenser but a little closer to the tub and towards the middle of the left side of the unit. As with a liquid detergent, dilute 1:1 (30ml:30ml) with water before pouring into the dispenser.

If the fabric softener dispenser isn't working, add the fabric softener in the final rinse.

The manual for the washing machine is available here: http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/LG/WF-F5207PC-_E . You will need to review the unit or enter a security code.

I hope this helps.

My sister pours a lot of liquid softener into our Kenmore Elite front load dispenser. I said to only use 1/4 cup as recommended. Will using too much fabric softener cause problems?

YES!! This machine uses an average of 14 gallons of water per load as compared to 40 gallons for a top load!! Less water means less detergents!! Excess detergent and softener can create build up withing the machine that will cause unpleasant odors and eventually rear bearing failure.

Hi, I'm house sitting for a friend and he has a kenmore elite washing machine. Which slot do i put the liquid clothing detergent in? softener? or

The LEFT slot is for detergent. Do not overfill, or you may experience a "SUDS" error. It is recommended that only HE detergent is used. The RIGHT front slot is where you put the fabric softener. Again, only fill to the fill line.

These washers are engineered to use very little water, so you only need a little detergent. If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

As you look at your dispenser. The Left compartment is for Detergent. The Right Front compartment is for the Fabric Softener Liquid. The Right Rear compartment is for Chlorine Bleach.
