It's my daughters machine - don't know the model - all it aays in the front is Kenmore and on the other side HE2. I put some rugs in for her and when I came back to her house - lots of red lights were lit up. Horrors!! I could just picture my head being severed. I hit power buttun and the all the lights went off EXCEPT Door Locked. Try as I may - I can't get it to ulnclock and my daughter is due home soom HELP

Manually Unlocking the Door Lock System 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Remove the lower kick panel. 3. Reach up along the inside of the front and locate the bottom of the door switch/lock unit. 4. Located on the bottom of the door switch/lock unit is a tear-drop shaped tab. 5. Gently pull the tab down about a ¼" or until a click is heard. 6. The door may be opened.
Here is the service manual for that machine.

Sorry it wasn't a little easier fix for you. These front load washers are a pain compared to the older top load, which I prefer over a front load any day of the week.

Is this an HE2 or a HE3 model? I don't get any results on that model number. Is there any numbers before the 40272900?

Kenmore he2 front door panel bolts 11047561601

The HE machines use what are called torque bits, and you'll need one to remove them because there isn't a socket that fits them. I want to say its a t-25 or t-27
