Hi I use a Siemens i-DOS washing machine (http://www.siemens-home.co.uk/WM14S890GB.html) My question is: Can I use a condensed liquid detergent with it's i-DOS port? (for instance, can I use the Ariel Excel Gel (http://www.ariel.co.uk/Products/ArielExcelGel.aspx) with it? or the fact that this liquid detergent is condensed may cause problems with my machine?

If water is being dispensed from both sides of the detergent tray, dismantle washing machine and remove top plate of the detergent tray and clean thoroughly. Water overflows from both sides during the rinse cycle to add softener to the rinse. On our washing machine it was blocked. During the service it was changed but can be washed out to solve problem.

I was searching the net looking for the same answer - have just bought an LG front loader but wasn't certain I should be using liquid detergent - my manual refers to powder without telling you specifically to use it only. Look at the answers to the question after yours on the Fixya website "LG washer has awful mildew odour" or something similar. Solution 3 by Tresilla convinced me I should use powder! Also, the salesman who sold me the machine recommended powder because, quote, " gentler on clothes and more efficient ..." - he didn't mention the possibility of a later mildew odour which is apparently generic to front loaders!

I ended up having to call Samsung support for this same question. Left to right two vertical bars = detergent (liquid or Powder) flower = softner, single vertical bar = bleach.
