Presuming that this is an Indesit WD12X.
Yes, there is a filter at the bottom left of the machine (It can be clearly seen in the illistration on Page 14 of the manual, figure 6).
If you don't have a manual, you can download a PDF of it here:
http://www.indesit.co.uk/indesit/_pdf/manuals/19503326500_UK-USA-AUS.pdf
It's highly likely that the water isn't getting evacuated because the filter is blocked and so there is just too much water to dry. Unscrew the filter, clean and replace. I'm amazed to discover that (so far as I can see) The manual never even mentions the filter! Well done Indesit
There is not anything on the bottom left of the machine or on page 14 figure 6 in the manual. On the bottom right is a plug that just lets water out but no filter that I can see anywhere.
My apologies, firstly for saying left instead of right (clearly not got my wits about me today!) and for misleading you about the filter. Further investigation reveals taht the manufacturer says it has a "Self cleaning pump" though how it manages to clean out coins and nails, I'm not sure!
Time for a little diagnosis now:
Am I right in presuming that this is a new problem rather than one you have always had?
Has the machine been moved recently or has anyone moved the empty pipe?
Can you tell me if the clothes dry if you put them on for an additional spin before you engage the dry function?
Hmmm..... The drain pipe thing can be significant. It could be that the hose is in an odd position, causing the water not to drain properly. It's not VERY likely, because if the water doesn't evacuate properly, most machines won't then step on to spin, so it would have to be a fairly fine line, but check the pipe anyway.
The other possibility is that the clothes are not getting as hot as they should, but once again, you've said they are getting hot, so I imagine this isn't the issue (I'm talking myself out of solutions here!)
Is it possible that you are just overloading a little? Remember that 4kg is a max limit in these washer dryers and in some cases only 1kg is recommended (See the table of items and recommended weights on page 4 of the manual). If you are used to a seperate washer and dryer, you may not be used to the pathetic loads that these things can take.
You will also find that a minor overload causes a massive degredation in the outcome, because the clothes can't tumble as freely as they should. Go a 25% overweight and you will nearly double the drying time!

No need for apologies! I am not sure if this is a new problem or not since we are in a rental home and just moved in. I am not to familar with a washer/dryer combo so since I couldn't find a lint filter I wasn't sure what the problem could be. I know our dryer at home would not dry if the filter was plugged or it could not vent. The machine has been recently pulled out so maybe the drain pipe is out of place? I have not tried an additional spin but they do spin pretty dry on the current cycle. Thank you so much for you help!
It could very well be overload! I will try smaller loads and if does not work then we will pull it out and recheck the pipe. If all this fails then I guess it will be time to call out a serviceman. Thank you so much for helping me with this. I may or may not have a solution but at least I have some direction now. Have a Great night!
