Bought a new BHD-651-G 65 pint dehumidifier. Set it up and started it. Immediately got an error code "AS"" which is a "humidity sensor error." The instruction book said pull the electric plug, wait a minute or two, and plug it in again. If it does it again, call for help. It did, and I did. Heat Controller, Inc. sent me a new one - AND - does not want the first one returned. I figure it's got to be an electronic circuit board or the humidity sensor which SHOULD be fairly easily to replace. Yes? No? Thanks for your thoughts . . .

It's easy to replace, if after you dismantle the unit, you know what to look for. If not, than it would be difficult. Your Owner's Manual may have a schematic in it, that would be of tremendous help. If it doesn't contact Heat Controller Inc, and ask them to email you a schematic. Then, after reviewing it, you can decide whether it would be to difficult or not for you to do.

See if this helps. It worked for me, but yours may be different. You can only change humidity levels when it's not in Cont. mode.

What is your humidistat set at? Could you be trying to get to too low a humidity? Try to determine what the humidity is and set the stat just below that. In that way, once it reaches the setpoint, it will cycle off, allowing the coils to warm up.
If that works, lower the setting a bit more & see results.

Code CH 01 is showing where the humidity level is suppose to be. The machine turns on & shuts off immediately

Had same problem in 2008. Had to replace Evap Thermister board and sensor. Parts $120 Labor $50.00.
I am not an expert. Good Luck!

It could be a bad compressor, circuit board, or maybe even a sensor or dehumidistat...
