* Blowers perform the single, simple function of blowing material. * Blower/vacuum combinations combine the blower function with a vacuum feature. Leaves or debris can be directed into an attached bag, which makes this type of unit great for vacuuming leaves from shrubs. An additional mulching feature is available on some leaf blower/vacuums. Mulched lawn debris can be used in compost piles or bagged for disposal. Most convert easily from blowing to vacuuming mode.

SOURCE: craftsman leaf blower/vacuum

I have a Craftsman and you should have a separate attachment to it. Your motor will turn the same, instead of pushing air out the pipe, you will draw air in through the air intake.

SOURCE: turning the vacuum on.. paramount pb350

That blower vacuum is very easy to operate if you have all the pieces. You need the tubes to blow, you need the larger tub to vacuum and if you want also a bag to attach to the bigger tube. The bigger tube has to be attached at the opposite part of the machine and once you turn it on it will vacuum.

How do you get it to vacuum?

If you got all the parts you will find an adapter that fits over the air intake system for the blower. That is the vacuum source.

Heater vents close and it sounds like blower motor gets louder when passing gear is used

You most likely have a vacuum line leak -- could be in a hose run to the vacuum motors which operate the duct doors or various other places. Vacuum drops off when engine is rapidly accelerated which reduces the vacuum the heating system motors receive. The blower motor seems to get louder because the closing of the doors provides the sound of the motor a different (more open) path to your ears.

Where do i switch theLEAF HOG FROM VACUUM TO BLOWER

Remove vaccuum tube. Allow the access door for the vacuum tube to shut all the way. Attatch the blower tube where you had the collection back for the vaccuum attatched. That is it.

Older leafhog don't know how to change over to blower instead of vacuum model Bv2500

Remove the vacuum tube completely from the bottom of the machine and make sure the impeller cover closes completely. Remove the collection bag off of the blower outlet. Now attatch the blower tube to that outlet on the blower. Done.

Blower not working

If the blower motor resistor is bad, the fan will run only on the high speed setting. In your case, you state you have no air coming from the dash vents, indicating that the blower is working. The control of air flow is done with vacuum-operated baffles that steer the air to the different possibilities. If it isn't changing with your different settings, you may have a broken or loose vacuum line or the very frail fitting on the vacuum reserve tank is snapped off - have seen this on GM stuff before.
The tank normally a cylindrical device 6-8" across and high. it should have two small fittings on which there should be vacuum lines. It is often located close to the firewall.

The leaf hog BV4000

Put the switch in the center off position. That allows you to press the big black button in the front and take the vacuum attachment off. Replace the vacuum with the blower attachment and you should them be able to blow rather than vacuum.
