Two drive systems are available on both the hammer drill and the rotary hammer models: 1. SDS (or Slotted Drive System) bits for hammer drills/rotary hammers allow the bit to slide in the chuck and enhance the hammering action of the tool. For most applications, these bits provide plenty of torque. 2. SDS Max bits are similar to SDS bits, but have larger shanks and come in larger sizes than SDS bits. These powerful bits are useful in industrial applications.

Before the invention of the hammer drill, people face a lot of trouble drilling in the tight spaces. They had to break down the parts in smaller units in order to drill it properly. So does the hr200 work as a miny jack hammer or just a driil, can i buy a diffrent bit for that type of model to jack hammer up a little concrete

This is an older, discontinued model Makita that only works as a hammer drill. It does not have the dial selector the newer models have to switch from 'drill' to 'hammer drill' to just 'hammer'. If you need, there's a parts breakdown and user manual available at:

Drill stuck in hammer mode

Did you try oil or other type of lubrication under the bezel? Hammer drills make a lot of dust.

How do I fit drill in this machine please? DEWALT D25113K D25113 3 MODE SDS

Youcan only use standard drill bits with the use of a chuck attachment with the SDS type bayonet. These hammer drills use an SDS type drill bit which just pushes into the fitted chuck and are released by pulling back on the lock mechanism on the chuck.

I own a hd50spk hitachi...what drill bits are universal across the brands?

there are 2 main types of hammer drill bits, standard and SDS.

standard bits go in a regular style chuck hammer drill

SDS bits have 2 grooves and 2 elongated holes on the shaft which snap into the chuck

I'm not sure which type you have, but to answer, the 2 types are universal within their types

DRILL FUNCTION BUT NOISY IN USE

Depending on the type of hammer drill you have, the noise should only be heard when you are applying pressure to the material you are drilling. Some drills have 2 bump plates that cause the hammer action. This is what causes the noise. It kind of sounds like the gears are stripped but the chuck still goes just fine. You do not need to grease this, it will make this noise regardless. However you may want to take a look at the gears and make sure they are ok. You may want to add grease if the old grease is broken down or there is not enough in the gear housing. Larger hammer drills have a piston and actual hammer. Such as the Bosch Bulldog series. If it is this type and there is noise when you are in drill mode there may be more serious problems.

Hammer drills Power supply

There are cordless varieties of just about any type of hand drill, even the specialized hammer drill. These hammer drills work in the same manner as any of the core hammer drills or regular drills. Powered by a set of rechargeable batteries.
