Since you have stated ABSOLUTELY nothing about provinance... model, year... owners manual POLICE being a pretty decent watch from the UK (I'm going to skip right on past the AUTHENTIC notion... Chronograph (shown).

If your your watch is a REGULAR knock-off (replicant)... t has the miyota movement...

A highly precise and reliable motor in it's own right.
(sets very much like the high end valjoux cousins)

It is a crown-set... typically a three position stem set.

Force nothing... !!

Some GENTLY unscrew the crown... others will pull out
to set: 1, TIMW 2, DATE... THREE (back to normal -closed).

In the closed position

The stop/start butons do precisely that on those SUB-DIALS.

In the SET positions the start/reset buttons are used to ZERO those sub-dials (press & hold... then individual clicks will move each hand to zero).

Go to calculator mode and press the adjust button (recessed one on the right hand side of the watch)

Simultaneously press two buttons. It reset all, you show "Po". Press buton two (down placed) once quickly or more to set 12:00. Press buton 1 for longer as 3 s. You see 59. After watch synchronized if have good connection with sender, if not you must wait or adjust time by "hand". In Poland I must wait for automatic adjusting ca 3-4 hours.

The first thing I'd recommend for a 60 year old watch is to have a watchmaker clean and oil it. Over the years the oil gets thick and gummy and slows down the watch as you're experiencing. Once it's properly cleaned and oiled the watchmaker will test and adjust it to ensure that it keeps good time. This is not a DIY job but one for a trained watchmaker with the proper tools, lubricants and experience.
