I have a 2 year old Ryobi RY34440 String trimmer, 30cc. Last year worked fine, this year pull cord is so easy to pull it doesn't even turn engine over. Is is the spark plug?

Either the pull starter is not pulling or you are not getting compression. To check you need to check the spark plug is still snug. If so, remove the plug and put a drinking straw in the hole to touch the piston. Slowly pull the starter to see if the piston is moving. If the piston is moving and the plug was snug then you are losing compression somewhere, like a head gasket. If not moving then the problem most likely is in the starter, and disassembly required to investigate.

Engine will not run at full throttle. I replaced the plug, mixed new gas, replace the air filter and tried adjusting both throttle screws. the engine starts easy, and idles fine.

You could have a carbon problem try taking off your muffler and check for the exhaust port for carbon if so I would take it to a good small engine mechanic to get it removed as it is rather tricky as the engine has to be pulled apart.

Hi i wonder if you can help my Ryobi hedge trimmer has a problem with the pull cord it works goes in and out but it does not turn the engine over is there maybe a key way or something that maybe broken...

Hello Nick,
Inside the cord attaches to a plastic wheel which cranks the engine. This cord can become loose or can break after some use. Try opening the plastic casing where the cord is to see if this is the problem.
Thanks

Won't start , can not get primer to work even after replacing primer bulb.

If your fuel filter is clean, and none of the fuel lines are pinched, then you probably need to replace the diaphragms, gaskets, and screen in the carb. Some carbs with the primer bulbs mounted on the carb have a check valve in the primer system. This is the least likely problem, but it is possible that the check valve is defective.

When in operation the Ryobi S430 string trimmer leaks oil continuously. How can I fix this problem?

Ryobi told me the unit can't have the s430 trimmer bottom end raised higher than the engine at any time, or it will leak. Apparently they released a product to compete with other companies for cheap 4 cycle trimmers without much care for the end user.
