Hi i got a 32 gb sansa fuze memory card.. like 2 weeks ago. from buy.com and well today i got my sansa fuze white player. the memory card will not fit into the player. I would like to get a memory card with lots of memory. for music only. do you have any sugustions. on which card to get that WILL FIT. thanks donnie hudson p.s. the memory card i got says sdhc card which I do not know what that means. and it has the number 4 on it. and sd hc which I do not know what that means. was this ment for a camera only???

From your description, you seem to have bought a regular SDHC (secure digital high-capacity) card. A Sansa Fuze can only accept micro SD or micro SDHC cards. For buying a new card, I would suggest this card from newegg.com. As for other things you mentioned: No, the card you bought is not meant for cameras only, the only reason your device uses micro SD/SDHC cards is because it is a smaller device. The 4 on your card signifies that it is class 4 which is the card's speed classification.

It will certainly take a 2GB microSD card.

This link on Sandisk forums tells how to check if you have a version 2 that will take a 4GB.

For the Sansa Fuze there's a manual available in pdf format on the Sandisk support site:

Save this file to a location on your computer for later use.

When you explore "My Computer" the micro SD card with x GB memory, should be available as an extra external drive.
This drive will show up as an extra drive letter with a total capacity of x GB .

As far as I can see from the manual the e100 series player only supports up to 2 GB memory SD cards, see page 8 (=7) of the manual:

Formatting the SD card of 2 GB should be in FAT format, see:

Sansa fuze
i had the same problem putting on music and what i eneded up doing was coping all my music to a memory stick and using a differnt computer. if you want you could buy a microsd card reader and format the card to put music on it and then just sync the computer to the card and that should work just as good.

My sansa fuze is not working
Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me;.

Offhand, the message indicates that the Sansa is requesting that the internal storage be reformatted using the PC. This would require that the Fuze be connected to the PC through USB. Thereafter, the computer would recognize it as an external storage device. Steps required to format:
  • connect Sansa Fuse to USB of PC;
  • double click on "My Computer";
  • it would show probable as an "E";
  • right click on the "E" and click on "Format...";
  • a new window will pop up;
  • under the "File system" pls select FAT or FAT 32;
  • verify that "Quick Format" is un-checked;
  • click on Start button.
