I just purchased an LG VU CU920 and it did not come with any Sync software. I got a USB cable for it but there is no sync software available for this phone. I found on line that the PRADA KE850 phone from LG Australia is the same as the VU CU920 and it comes with the USB cable and the Sync Software for it. Not to mention all the accesories we have to buy seperately here is the US. I have tried several sites given throughout the internet to download the Sync software for the PRADA but they have all been removed by LG. I tried going to the LG Australia websites and search for the software but it does not come up anywhere. It seems that LG has removed all available Sync software for this phone line. All other software available for purchase like DataPilot do not support contacts synch on the VU or PRADA phones.
Does anyone know where I can download the LG Sync software for the PRADA or some other Sync software that will allow me to keep the phone synchronized with Outlook? Does anyone have the software to sell for the PRADA?
You don't need software to transfer files. Here is what you need to do.
Go into your phone settings.
Click on Connection
Select USB Connection Mode
Select Mass Storage (You MUST have a 1g memory card or larger in the phone)
Connect the USB to your phone and your PC
Viola! your pc should recognize it as a mass storage device. Put files where you want them etc.
Good luck.
where is "connection" on a lg800

How can i get my info off of my phone after the touch screen dies Please i need help
No Software is needed for this phone. Just go to the USB connection menu in the phone and select one of the three types of connections you want. I use Large Storage and can access the phone like another drive. Just copy any file you want to the phone by copy paste and your done!!
My wife had the same problem with sync. Our reasoning is to unlock and theme the phone (iphone theme, etc.), but i found the right way to sync and do pretty much anything else. Open up two internet tabs. 1st is for youtube.com (search LG Vu themes), 2nd tab is for lg-vu.com . There is a guy on here who will walk you through LG pc suite , bitpim, and EIP. Use his video and these tools to follow along, and you will be finally able to manage your Vu the way you should. Sad that LG does this to its customers, but i hope this helps you guys feel better. PS: you need to buy a usb data cable for this stuff. Good Luck and enjoy!
forgot to mention also with the LG PC suite thing. the cu920 uses the LG USB Modem Driver Only x86 (32-Bit)or (64-Bit) depending on the OS. Check your system properties under MyComputer to verify which one you have. This is found under the modding and downloads/drivers section. Once you download and install this (instead of LG PC suite) you can follow the rest of his tutorials and be ok. he neglects to mention this in the video so i am just trying to save you all a headache. Data Cable is a MUST.
What if your phone has no place for a memory card & I do model CU920.

Funny you mentioned the address issue. If you save your contacts to the sim then you are limited to 18 spaces for names and no place to put in addresses. However, after argueing with LG and ATT, I finally found an assistant manager working for ATT corp store that new what he was doing and this is the solution....Change your contacts to save to handset and then you will notice that you have 38 spaces for names instead of 18. You will also notice that there will suddenly be a memo at bottom of contact info which will allow you to put in 158 spaces. This memo is large enough to hold addresses and more. By saving to memory card, you aren't given as much room for things but if you save to phone, you get more options. Give it a try. I am much happier now that I learned this info.
EVERY TIME IT SHOWS INSERT SMARTCHIP IS THERE ANY SOLUTION FOR THIS AND EVEN I AM NOT GETTING SOFTWARE ANY OF THESE PLACES VISAKHAPATNAM AND HYDERABAD
Here was my solution w/o using a data cable:
You need:
1. Sync software for your old phone.
2. A way to transfer your contacts from your old phone to your pc (via bluetooth or cable).
3. Your pc (desktop or laptop) should be bluetooth enabled.
4. MS Excel and Outlook on your pc.
1. Export your contacts from old phone. I had a nokia 6103a which has bluetooth capability. I used the nokia pc suite to transfer all contacts from my old phone to my laptop (thinkpad T60) in a csv format.
2. Convert the csv file to a tab delimited format using MS Excel.
3. Use Outlook to import contacts from a tab delimited file (File -> Import and Export -> Import from tab delimited file -> Map your fields for: name, business phone, mobile phone, home phone, other phone, etc). This will create all your contacts in outlook.
Note: I was getting errors converting my original csv file, which is why I saved it as a tab file in step 2. You can try importing into outlook without converting to tab-delim to see if it works for you.
4. Use your laptop's bluetooth capability to connect to your LG Vu.
5. Select all the contacts you want to export to your LG Vu. I did a Ctrl A.
6. Use Outlook's (File->Send to Bluetooth -> [Your LG Vu's bluetooth name here]
7. For each contact, the Vu will prompt you whether you want to accept the file or not. Click yes each time. I had 266 contacts so it took me approx 4 mins to mindlessly click through all of them.
Note: This is faster that using your laptop's software (at least Thinkpad's bluetooth transfer software) to transfer each contact individually.
I hope this helps.
Solution # 4 WORKS!!!! I buy an LG USB Data Cable and Go into my phone settings then Click on Connection and Select USB Connection Mode without the data USB cable connected I Select Mass Storage and Connect my USB to your phone and your PC and I transfer my pics and videos... THANKS!!!
You can sync your contacts up on your computer by using bluetooth on the phone and a bluetooth reciever, though it only allows you to transfer one contact at a time, if that made any sense or helped any

I've same problem, it sucks... You buy a nice expensive phone, you expect to be able to sync calendars... I guess that's what I get for not buying a windows mobile os phone...
I've heard of some programs but hadn't had any luck personally. I've heard of people using BitPim, and PcSync.... Let me know if you find a solution please
This is henryher from above. This place would not let me post a solution since I posted a problem. That is stupid, if you find a solution you should be able to post it. Anyway I found the only software that LG makes for a similar phone. They do not make a Synch software for the Vu. The LG PC Suite and drivers are here http://rapidshare.com/files/138596660/LG... You will need to install it anyway because you need the drivers to do other stuff on the PC. You will also need a USB Data Cable. Make sure it says Data and not just USB cable. If it doesn't say Data on the USB end somewhere you can only use it to charge the phone. Here is the most comprehensive forum I found on the Vu. This link will take you to the post for using Synch software with the Vu. I agree that it sucks of LG to sell a phone without the Synch software. It leaves us with third party choices that are not made for the Vu. Thankfully there are people that make it their goal in life to hack their equipment and they come up with some pretty innovative stuff sometimes. Here is a link to a Vu forum that is the best I have found http://www.lg-vu.com/index.php/topic,689... I was able to move my contacts from my Treo to the Vu by linking them through Bluetooth and then beaming the contacts from the Treo to the Vu. Problem is I had to do it one at a time. One other thing I don't like in the Vu is that the contacts list is limited to phones and email only. You can not enter addresses for your contacts.
yup got the same phone, but stop being such a cheapscape and just go buy a sync cable
Yes Help Me
I trying to install Java based applications on my phone and I've searched the LG site, manual; everything for PC Suite software. Please help with information in regards to installing stuff on this phone.
This is insane why LG doesn't want its users to sync contacts; I'd advise others not to buy such a phone
This is insane - why LG doesn't want its users to sync its contacts. I'd advise others not to purchase this phone
Same thing here, If I had known this I would have bought another brand
any updates on the software?
How to sync up?
I want to move my pictures from this mobile to my laptop. How can I do this? My laptop doesnt have bluetooth.
Lg VU is not worth what I paid for it ! I regret not doing more research on the LG aka LONG GONE. What was Lg thinking when they designed the VU which by the way we poor Californians are not able to VU due to the fact that this is not available in the sunshine state. Oh well:-)
I have the same problem. I like the Vu, but where is the software???
