I can not switch on asus wl 600-g wireless adsl router. When I turn on the power switch only 4 leds for ports 1-4 are blinking and there is no other led activated (power led is also off). It can not be restored to default state or anything else. What is the problem and how can it be solved? Thanks

You can reset all settings to their factory defaults manually by pushing the "Reset" button of the ASUS 802.11g AP while it is ON. Push the "Reset" button with a pen or a paper clip for about 5 seconds or until the power LED starts blinking.

when connecting a router to a router - the one that is connecting you to the internet needs DHCP turned on because it is the one that will be giving you IPs and Gateway settings - the other router such as wireless router after setting it up needs its DHCP turned off - other wise you will have 2 routers trying to do the same thing with ip's and gateways. And you should never connect a modem router to the WAN port as it is a modem router and NOT just a DSL-modem. The WAN port is intended for DSL-modems only. Not only consumers but also many technicians make that mistake

Next, make sure you have connection to the internet by hooking directly to the Apple router. when the adsl is not blinking that means your phone line is having problem plz ask your phone line provider to check the line.

it could be the modem and the router has the same ip address. the asus router has an ip of 192.168.1.1, check if the dynalink modem has an ip of 192.168.1.x. if so, change the router's ip to 192.168.x.x (e.g. 192.168.2.1) then see if you'll be able to connect to the internet while the modem is connected to the wan port of the router

It's always smart to set a restore point in case something goes wrong during installation of any program. For wireless connection from laptop or PC: install router software on computer. Reboot computer. In browser address bar enter 192.168.1.1. This brings up a window for user name and password. Enter "admin" for both.
