Amana French Door Fridge - Hello, our freezer isnt working. I went to get ice and all of it was melted. It sounds like it's still running tough. The fridge part is working just fine. When I emptied the freezer it looks like there is some frozen ice on the back wall. 3 days ago when I opened the freezer everything was covered in frost. This has happened when someone didn't close the door completely so I was assuming it wasnt closed properly. Really need advice. Thanks.

Amana french door refrigeraor section won't cool? Amana french door refrigeraor, less than 4 years old, refrigerator section becomes warm. If I defrost the vents in the back of the freezer sec

I would say you have a bad jazz board,do this open the right hand side door of the fridge, you'll see on the touch pad the up and down arrows, hold the light switch in and press the down key three times, let go of the light switch press the down button again and i think it says like s and p can't remember but press the down one more time and you should see 4 and 4 or whatever settings you had if you see this close the door, open the freezer, by doing what i told you you manually put it into defrost,if you hear the compressor running the board is bad part WPW10503278 and i have to tell you i've changed quite a few of these boards.also if the strip between the doors are hot check you coil on the bottom, usually when this happens the condenser coil is blocked with dust or the condenser fan isn't blowing,if you ever find the fan not blowing you can get a house fan and blow it onto the compressor and coil this will keep it cool until you change out the fan motor and you won't loose any food but that's another day.your coil might just need to be cleaned or the jazz board could be causing this because the compressor is running longer than it should.if you unplug the fridge, melt out all the ice off of the coil as best you can but the more the better you'll be able to use the fridge like normal for like 10 to 12 days then the coil will freeze up again so order the board melt out the ice with a hair dryer and you should be fine,if you need a hand programming the new board let me know i would tell you how to do it but i don't know if people are getting my answers nobody writes back,so open the freezer door, open the right side door, hold the light switch in,push the down button three times, let go of the light switch and push the down pad again and one more time you should see settings again, close the door,if compressor is running the board is bad.

one more thing if you remove the bottom kick plate there should be a tech sheet either folded up and it's in the kick plate or it's in a plastic pouch taped up to the floor check right side but could be on left too and clean the coil while you're down there

The freezer is working but the fridge part isn't

this is usually do to a blockage in the air duct from the freezer to the fridge. put food in a cooler with ice and unplug and open all doors for 12 hours. If doesn't work, need a repair man due to fan probably broken

Amana fridge. french door ice maker now seems to freeze overflow of water so i'm using hair dryer frequently to remove the clog. why is this starting

Your defrost assembly has probably stopped working, which means that you are probably also building up ice in between the panels.

Ice forming on freezer

The drain is plugged. This fridge will defrost every 8 hrs or so. When it does , it will melt the frost that has built up on the evaporator. This melted frost will run down a drain under the evaporator to a drain in the bottom directly under the evaporator. When the drain gets plugged the water cannot drain out of the freezer compartment. After several defrost cycles the melted frost will overflow onto the freezer floor. When the fridge starts back up it will freez this water is the bottom of the fridge. sometimes this water that is now ice will melt on the next defrost cycle and actually run out into the floor. You will have to unplug the fridge or turn it off, then remove the cover to the evaporator. Get a hair dryer and melt the ice aruond the evaporator and drain. Once the ice is removed, check the drain and try to clear it. Once clear, replace everything but the shelves. Plug the fridge back in or turn it back on. Observe and listen for the evaporator fan. It should be running now. When working on the ice on the evaporator always be carefull. The defrost heater can be damaged if up push or pull on it too much.

Refrigerator compartment not cooling

If you are sure the fan in the freezer is running and you don't feel any air flow out of the top middle vent inside the fridge section, then the damper motor must be bad. The damper motor is behind that vent cover inside the fridge section.

Freezer Works, Fridge Doesn't

I would replace the evaporator fan if you say its not working, but works when you turn it for a while. The bearing in the motor is m9st likely gone. There inexpensive to repolace and Im sure if you allready have had the rear panel off you will have no proble replacing it. Good luck
