I have a Kenmore Model # 253.62812202 refrigerator. It collects water at the bottom of the vegee and fruit trays at the bottom of the refrigerator which eventually leaks out onto the kitchen floor. Does this sound like a plugged or inoperative drain tube? If so how do I get at it to attempt to unplug the tube?

It has a clogged drain tube and bottom trays is already full.
De-clogged it using a solid wire, match enough to penetrate the drain tube.
Insert solid wire slowly to the drain tube, back and forth.
Put water to clean and rinse drain tube.
Regularly check drain tube for clogged and tray for full water.
Good luck.

Ice collects in the bottom of the freezer not allowing door to shut

BA Baker... hello,

Ice collecting on the bottom of the freezer.. is not such a terrible thing...

(Probably means the defrost is working... (merely not EXITING)).

New refrig or unfamiliar refrig could cause deeper analysis...
but if ...

If this is not a new device... and has been happily tending to it's own needs (evaporating well) for a while (months would be re-assuring)...

Then you are MOST probably looking at a clogged evaporator drain... (usually easily fixed by negotiating "WARM" (not hot) through the bottom vents slots of your freezer section.

Looking under your Refrigerator/Freezer... or consulting your owners manual... Locate your defrost "catch" pan...

It should NOT be dusty...

(easily tested: clean paper in tray...
Still clean tomorrow = clogged drain (pan is watered daily).

Close inspection should reveal a tube descending into it.... This is where you will watch for your patiently applied doses of warm water to appear... (near immediate).

It may take several doses... because ice can also have formed over the drain... Be persistent... You will be proud.

Please comment me back... I really like REFRIGERATORS/Frzrs...
few appliances tend to themselves so well (adorable).

Kenmore Model 10654613300 Freezer over freezing

In the freezer side there is a panel in the back. behind the panel are the evaporators. over the evaporators are heaters you will find one of then broken from water dropping on it the bottom one was broken on mine. put a fan to the freezer and thaw it out. get the model and serial numbers and look on ebay.com. or there is a place called http://www.repairclinic.com/
These are not hard to change but above all UNPLUG THE FRIG OR THEY MAY PUT YOU IN ONE.

Hope this helps.

Ice build up on floor of freezer. can't figure where it is coming from. There is not a drain on bottom panel. Any suggestiuons? Frigidaire model no AFU2067BWL2

I know that your freezer shows a drain in its floor but there is also a drain behind the rear wall and at the bottom of a tray that collects the water during defrost and is surposed to drain that water that comes during defrost and then drains to a pan below the refrigerator and next to compressor. The solution will be to clean out this drain that is hidden from site behind the rear wall. I am pretty sure you are having a defrost drain blockage problem. Most defrost every eight hours and over a period of time the drain line that comes down from freezer into a cup like object top middle and back of the fresh food section. If blocked by gunk or ice you will see trails of liquid leaking down the rear wall of fresh food compartment until it reaches the crisper drawers. This is not always the same with every model as you may see frozen ice flowing down ther rear wall of freezers on side by sides. Here is an example Click here=> Whirlpool Leak Photo taken by TechnicianBrian He has been around a good bit and deserves credit for his contributions. Here is another way to make this look more si mple in clip below. TechnicianBrian.com And in this photo are several parts listed in photo group #1 were it is most likely running down the wall=> MagicChef CTB1921AR fresh food section. If you still have questions please ask and rate me if I was able to explain this well enough. Every refrigerator is made different so these are examples only. The key is to find if ice or just gunk has blocked you defrost drain. Unplug and then remove the rear panel in back of freezer. We need to see if the water is overflowing the condensate drain tray or if the blockage is in the turn the drain leads down back of your refrigerator. Much more on this page=> Leaking Refrigerators! This is a common tip so I will be placing this post and add as we go new ideas listed in Sea Breeze Tips Section. If you run into any problems along the way of repair please let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Only the top 2 freezer panels seem to be working. they have ice build up on them (it is not a frost-free model) and the other shelves have nothing. This is not usual. and the fruit i had in the bottom...

Good day,
You have a refrigerant leak. Unless the unit is under warranty(usually 5 years) the repairs would range from extremely expensive to impossible.
Recharging doesn't work, since the charge would simply leak back out.
Sorry for the bad news, but
