Best bet is to contact luminox...i had to do it for mine. Even if it was a purchase from a third party, they may take care of it for free...

How do I use the moveable outer numbered ring on the t49825dh?

The numbered bezel can be used by divers to measure elapsed time on their oxygen supply. Place the zero where the minute hand is now and you'll know when 20 or 30 minutes have passed when the minute hand reaches bezel number 20 or 30.

In the same way, you can use the bezel to tell when 30 minutes have passed on your parking meter if you simply put the 0 on the minute hand when you leave the car. When the minute hand reaches the 30 mark, a half hour will have passed.

Typically, the bezel only turns counterclockwise to keep the wearer from bumping and changing the elapsed time number. On some less expensive watches, the numbered bezel does not turn and is decorative only.

I have a Breitling SuperOcean A17360. How does the rotating bezel work and how does one use it?

The bezel rotates (manuall) so that you can set the time you have to dive, next to the minute hand. Then as the minute hand rotates, you can see how long you have left before your oxygen runs out.

Need new bezel

Try parsecent.com, you can get a replacement bezel there...

and you are right, you are basically buying a new watch as this model is made of plastic and cannot be 'polished'. Refurbishing it means that it will look new and everything on the outside would have to be replaced...good luck :)

What is the purpose of the rotating bezel on the Callaway CY2058? It has no markings, which it needs to be useful.

If you have no markings on bezel there is no practical use for this feature.
Bezels with markings are used as a tachymeter (for calculating speed of the moving object) or as a countdown timer for sporting events or diving.
In your case bezel is becoming loose and thats why it is turning as I can't see the point why the watch should be fitted with rotating bezel with no markings on it.

Luminox bezel

Grab the knurled edge of the bezel and turn counter clockwise. It only moves in one direction- to the left, counter clockwise.

My TAG Aquaracer bezel moves counterclockwise

Yes, there are solution for that, but you will not be able to solve it yourself as the new part is needed.
That new part is called BEZEL SPRING and it is fitted underneath the bezel.
Bezel spring has special hooks pressed into it and allows to turn the bezel one way only (anticlockwise), at the same time stopping the bezel to turn clockwise.
Another cause can be that the dirt and grime are collected between the bezel and the watch case (this is where the bezel spring is located) and is stopping functionality of the bezel spring by leting the bezel slide over the hooks. This can be fixed by cleaning the watch case in ultrasonic cleaner.
Anyway- if the bezel is rotating on its own, I suggest that the bezel spring is broke and you will need to replace it.
