The Sd code appears when sud is detected but it may also indicate draining problem such as blocked drain filter or broken drain pump as signified by the long drain error code F21. The drain pump impeller may be broken or restricted resulting in poor draining or no draining at all or the drain pump motor is faulty. Since the drain hose and filter have been cleaned but the error code still persists, the drain pump likely needs to be replaced. Click on the link below for the detailed troubleshooting instructions.

Have a Kenmore Elite Oasis HE Washer with an extended warranty. Quit spinning water out, would show F71. Called on 9-27-12, Service man came out on 9-29--a Saturday. Replaced springs for unbalance and front panel buttons due to the fact that they were difficult to push. Ordered more parts. They arrived at home on 10-3. Called to set up a date, but the first one available was 10-8. Replaced control board--still not spinning out water and reading F71 error. Parts got here on 10-10. Technician got here on 10-15 after I called crying. They had me scheduled for 10-16. Replaced control board because apparently the second because it appeared the second technician took the control board off after it did not work, and replaced it with the same one. Their computers tell them what is going on. Of course, all parts are refurbished and since the control board had been replaced about 18 months ago, we got the original one back on 10-8, before it took it back out. On 10-15, the stator and wiring harness. Still not spinning out water and showing same error. Parts are on order, and someone should be here on10-22 to replace drum and bearings. This will be 25 days since the washer quit spinning out the water and 23 days since the first service call. Now, here is the part that I cannot believe--apparently if the fourth service call does not do the trick, then the Lemon Law kicks in, and I will get a--probably--refurbished washer??? Heaven knows how long that will take. Buyer beware of this fact. I have a friend who purchased a front loading washer from another company, and after the second call, they refunded her money--at her request. This washer is wonderful when it works. I cleaned it once a month with bleach, as it stated. I filled the bleach dispenser, ran it through the "clean washer" cycle, and--since it has a see through lid, would watch as it got rid of the suds that had apparently accumulated during that month. It takes an hour or a little over. I have never used anything other than HE detergent. If I did not have a warranty, I am wondering if the service calls would not be closer together than they are at this time. Perhaps they are killing time to see if the warranty will run out before they take care of the problem.
