Are you leaving the chock on? Might be starving for air.
Chock open it has spark when it dies, so that would eliminat the coil, it runs good when cold but ruff when worm ther is oil in coming out of the blow by would this be bad valve seats and or gides?

Sounds like your valve is shot...Have you had a compression test done?

Yes comp. was 60, I have removed valves both very worn, intake is the worse, not worth rebuilding, loks like we have a parts machine, Thanks David
The Briggs engine probably has a built in compression release. Most all of the larger OHV engines do. The factory states the correct way to test for GOOD compression is to grasp the flywheel and turn the engine backwards. If it rebounds and turns the other way when you let go, compression is OK. The compression release on these engines is going to yield a LOW reading such as what you state.
