Typically a lamp will not make much noise other than a slight buzz. I would check the fan to be sure that the fan turns freely and that the venting for it is clear. If that is not the problem, please try to describe what kind of noise you are hearing. That should help to narrow down further the possible problem areas.

Yes, that can solve the problem because there's also a possibility that the lamp is the one that is causing the noise..

Hope that helps........

The projector lamps always burning out. I think, the cooling system does not work? How does the projector work?

Make sure not to shut down the projector after use. Wait until the fan stops. The fan is to cool down the bulb during and after use. Once the fan stops, then you can shut it down.

Infocus projector makes a whistling sound then shuts off

The whistling is nothing but noise. You need to open the projector to confirm the source of noise. It can either be mechanical or electronic. Possibility of mechanical noise sources are colour wheel (a 4 colour wheel near the lamp), blower fans & exhaust fans. All these are rotating things. If any one of them is jammed, then so as to try to rotate at full speed creates noise. To reduce mechanical noise it is necessary to service them. Dust is one of the main reason. For electronic noise check SMPS (Switched Mode Power Supply) & lamp ballast (electronic choke). The electronic noise is a high frequency noise generated by such devices. Are you using the projector in dusty envionment?

the clicking sound hopefully is the high voltage trying to start the lamp, but for some reason there may be a connection problem between the lamp and the projector power supply.
take the lamp out.

look at the lamp and check that the 2 connecting plugs are ok.
then look inside the projector at the power sockets that connect to the lamp (when it's installed).
check that the pins are not damaged or pushed down too far to prevent the lamp plugs making a proper connection with the power sockets in the unit.

In the fan there will be a specification sticker. Remove the sicker. now u can see a hole in the center. its the bearing part of the fan. put one drop of oil in it. u can use any type of lubricating oil. rotate the fan leafs with finger for some time. after that re-stick the spec sticker. insert the fan in the projector. power ON the projector and watch.

Lamp burn out 3 time in 16months

clean out your projector. if there is a lot of dust and/or no air flow, the lamp will overheat and die. it needs to cool. use canned air and blow out any and all dust from inside the projector. make sure the fans work. also, don't buy lamps from "bob's lamps". get it from a reputable benq dealer.

There are more than 1 fan in the set; however, the last one to turn off is the lamp fan. The lamp fan keeps your lamp cool and helps extend the life of your projection bulb.

You could either replace the fan, or remove the fan from the set and give it a good cleaning (that's all it might need). However, be aware, fans that go bad in these sets will start to shut down your tv and decrease the life of your lamp. Be on the lookout for intermittent or sudden shutdowns, as those can definitely indicate a bad fan.

NEC LT260 PROJECTOR NOISE

To open this projector, you need to undo six screws at the underside of the case. That means you have to turn the projector upsidedown.
Pls note that one of these scews is a little hidden under the carrying handle.
After removing the screws, return the projector to it's normal 'up-side' up, standing position.
Remove the bulb cover srews and remove the bulb cover.
Lift up the top cover carefully starting from the front then all together.
The cooling fan is mounted very near the bulb assembly.
Carefully check the fan blades for any obtacles, wires or even a broken fan blade, that could be causing the noise.
